  5. Australian Tour?

[Edit: just noticed you're in Melbourne too ... should be a great show - I haven't been to the Palais in about fifteen years, but it's excellent]. 50 days to go!!! [Note: I think I've edited this message about four times now - do you think I'm excited?!?] Yeah, the tickets sold soo quickly. I initially got row J, and accidentally refreshed the page and lost them and ended up with row X. I had two computers open and was very close to buying the row X tickets, and the row C tickets open up, and I went crazy haha. Even trying to buy seconds from opening and it's so hard to get the 'best' seats. Row 14 is great though! The Palais has good seating all around. I'm soo lucky to have it turn out the way it did. And yes, the one and only show! There were two (sold out) shows last time, which is weird why she'd cut down. But yes, all very exciting! I'll be somewhere in seats 37-40 if you wanna say hi though! Good group of us Regina fans going along! quote: Originally posted by ali: anybody going to the sydney show? (and anybody know how to register for the pre sale tix?) xxxx ps SOOO EXCITED pps sorry its been so long guys....... I'd go through how to do pre-sale but the tickets for the pre-sale in Sydney are SOLD OUT! Camp out for the regular sale. The tickets are of the same quality cos they reserve half for both lots, but be on the dot!

Mine is really thick, hard paper (I ordered from WB). It won't even flatten out. I haven't hung it up yet... F*, I've been ripped off with a fake!! May I ask what size is it? mine is 30x30cm (cca 12x12in) Mine's the same, although I don't think it's a fake, I just think the US ones from Warner which are the numbered to 1000 are the 'thick' ones.

What do you mean by 'feelings'? (I just wanted to be sure before commenting.) http://reginaspektor.infopop.c...=795102698#795102698 I'm assuming you're 'I have a question'.... I'd have to think about the answer though. Some of you guys guys are freaking me out a little with your professions of love for Regina. :S Get a grip, it's turning obsessive!
  10. Genius Next Door meaning

I think that at the heart of the song, it is a simple sci-fi narrative, and I didn't feel as though it had any particular 'big issues' so to speak. From what I gather though, it seems as though the 'Genius Next Door' commits suicide by drowning, probably unintentionally whilst trying to discover 'the answer' that you could find by swimming in the lake. I do think it does touch on the areas of: - How towns/people handle myths, e.g. disapproval, mocking, curiousness, ignorance. - How life moves on after a death or big event. - And also how the 'genius next door' seemed to be a loner, and how death his can be treated in such an apathetic manner to those who didn't know him, e.g. 'with doughnuts, coffee, and reports'
  11. Far sales

Wow! Regina has made the top 10 in Australia! This is in the Top 50 Albums Chart, but in Aus they count it purely on number of copies sold, so MJ did take up about 4 of the top positions, so this would have been something closer to a no. 6 debut. http://www.ariacharts.com.au/p...album.asp?chart=1G50 Go Regina. A surprisingly strong Aussie following.

  13. Regina in Spin Magazine (July 2009)

Thanks so much for this article. Great read (and the pictures are beautiful!).
  14. Regina Song Showdown!

I would have to agree with the difficultly of deciding between those two. But Bon Idée it is! Bon Idée vs. The Virgin Queen
  15. Regina Song Showdown!

Was never really a fan of Pavlov's Daughter but I do love Daniel Cowman Daniel Cowman vs. Ode to Divorce
  16. Patron Saint

Pardon my ignorance Now that I think about it, I'm actually not sure! But Regina said so herself, at the end of the recording here: 2004-07-10 - Tonic, New York Patron Saint http://respektonline.com/shows.php
  17. The "Far" bonus songs

I really do love 'Riot Gear' though. I was not expecting such an upbeat and bouncy song - I really expected something heavier. The way she uses her voice, sliding it up, singing smooth, ah, just love it! Some of these should have made it to the main album and replaced some of the others IMO.
  18. Patron Saint

And let's not forget the ending! (stolen from a another song)
  19. I recently posted this video of Reggie playing 'Patron Saint' back in August 2003 at the Sidewalk Cafe. No it's not my video; it's an old video posted before but for some reason it was taken down. I love Patron Saint though. I wish that she'd play it again - hopefully on Far!
  20. Cheers everyone. I just find it so cool to find something from so long ago, seeing Regina when she was *so* unknown.

  23. "Far" Regina's Next Album :D

I just got my special edition copy of Far with the lithograph! Listened to it and loved (most) of it. Loving 'The Calculation', found 'Human of the Year' to be a little bit disappointing vocally, and 'One More Time with Feeling' needs a little more time to grow on me. I keep on thinking about the live version when I listen to this, so I probably need to try and listen to this in isolation. Not a bad album, not as great as I had hoped, but I still loved it. Will listen to it a few more times and see how it grows. For now, a solid 8.
  24. "Far" Regina's Next Album :D

I too will abstain from downloading or even streaming it. I'm finding the initial excitement is starting to wane every time I listen through the tracks. From today I've decided to stop listening to any of the songs which are on the album, including the live versions! This is so when I get my physical copy, I can stick it on the stereo and be like 'Wow!' this is great, just like my uncontrollable excitement when I heard Laughing With for the first time.
  25. "8th Floor" recording

Here's a nice, clear recording of 8th Floor from 2005: http://www.sendspace.com/file/zdysci I don't really know where it's from - maybe I torrented it, but it's not on any of the major sites - so just for your information, some more about the show that it was from. 2005-04-14 -- The Crocodile Cafe | Seattle, WA 1.
