So, Regina has always seemed to have an open taping policy previously. Must have taped her 10 times from 2004-06 with no problems bringing in a mic stand, etc. I've shared them all, well most of them, the ones I haven't are due to laziness, like that bowery ballroom show, and I have never sold anything. In Boston last april, i couldnt get my gear in. I mean, I still recorded the show (no one stops me from this), but it was an unnecessary hassle. Her soundtech didn't know a damned thing about her recording policy. A few other tapers I know had this same problem with her. Only by tracking down Regina and her tour manager were they allowed to openly tape (I'm a little too shy for such), still, unnecessary.
So, if some of the lovely folks of the brumstix want to keep seeing good quality regina tapes, it should be suggested to her, through her myspace or by whatever means necessary, that she should at least let the venue, or her own management, know of her stance on audience recording. I mean, folks that record don't sell, are mostly open to sharing. And if I had this reassurance I could get folks to film her shows with mulitple cameras and share those also no problem. Or not share, at the request of the artist. Whatever. Those new songs didn't pop up until her last tour was over, did they?
I'm just saying.
I don't have a myspace page. There are no good pictures of me.
and archive.org would be a nice place to host EVERYTHING if she would sign on.
It's ten of 6pm and I'm quite drunk.
