    I can't believe I missed this

Okay. Open is officially my fave song from her album. Not unless Jessica dethrones it on the 29th. The background effects are perfectly embedded in the background. I feel like catching my breath as well every time she performs it. I feel like it's beautifully haunting, you know? Great show per usual. You know it's always special when she performs in the city because she can't help but beam and mention a few times that she's happy to be performing at 'home.' Surprisingly, the crowd waiting for her after the show wasn't too many. The 'stix contingent let the other people have their turn first and we were the last that she interacted with. It was all rainbows, hearts, giggles, and all the good stuff there is as each person talked to, and hugged her. I'm really getting good at not dying so much when meeting her. But holy crap, she recognized me and said, "Hey! You're here!" Okay. I'm quite sure there was a millisecond where my brain stopped functioning and couldn't process what normal people would reply. But heeey, I think I pulled it off. I'm gonna have withdrawals now. Both from Regina and the usual 'stixers from these shows. We had a lovely faux-prayer circle formation right there for a while. Haha. Can't promise to upload the vids soon as I have crazy week ahead. I'll post the links when they're ready. I'm glad Greg recorded too! Yay! Here's a pic for the night: [img:left] [/img]

Guys, sorry for not uploading the vids yet. I'm rewatching them now and holy crapola, the lighting kind of sucked. It was too bright and it's bouncing off of her face like she's some form of deity that you're not allowed to look straight in the eye. Gaah! I'm trying to tinker with the brightness/contrast/exposure and all that shiznits and figure out which is the best combo to make it bearable to watch. It's such a shame because I really had a good angle to shoot from. :| I'll keep you posted.

I got good seats this time, so I had a good angle to shoot from. I'm uploading them in a bit. the only thing I messed up was Firewood--batt died halfway through and I had to change batteries. On my way home, I was replaying the conversation we had with her about the Brümstix design change and thought to myself, "Oh sh*t, did we just make an executive decision on behalf of the 'Stix?" I mean, she did express though that if people don't like it, she'll be pointing fingers at us. Hah. She also said she doesn't have an email--which drives her manager insane apparently. I'd imagine so. I can't wait for you guys to listen to Open. It really was a stand out for me that I almost teared up. You know the thing I love about her? It's that she takes her time to meet everyone and it doesn't seem like a chore to her. I've been to a handful of concerts, and there are only a few people I stay behind for to meet. Regina being one of them, I really can feel how she's genuinely invested in giving those few fleeting moments with her fans. It's almost like it's not just our faces that might break from too much smiling--it's also hers. Even as the crowd already thinned out, she would still seek the eyes out of whoever's still around, and see who wants a picture, a smile, a hug (this is of course, the best out of everything and we got it!), and it's just there: a radiation of happiness from us and her. While we were waiting outside, we saw these two old ladies waiting outside. I guess they were with their families, who were more invested in meeting Regina. One of them said goodbye to the other, and I couldn't help but tell the rest of the 'stixers that "hey, that's us 40 years from now." Haha. Still waiting outside Regina's door after an epic concert. Regina, you special snowflake. Don't ever melt. Also, here's a pic of us (someone just has to photoshop the dude out of the frame):

I'm quite late for the posting party. Also, not the most convenient angle to shoot and not the best quality, but what the hey: The entire playlist can be found Again, thanks to Serge, George, Jamie, Aaron, Marielle, Stephen, Raph + Mom, and Marija. Part of looking forward to Regina's shows is of course getting to spend time with you guys. :]

I have vids of everything but you just have to take it for its audio until someone posts better quality. Still on the way home I'll put up the links when they're up.

  12. HAPPY BIRTHDAY REGINA!

Happy birthday, Regina! I am thankful everyday for having known your music and never forget how lucky I am to have watched my share of your live shows. Thanks to you too, I've met amazing people here on Brümstix, and random people who share the same appreciation of you. I hope you'll enjoy your day. Looking forward to your concert this Thursday. ALWAYS looking forward to your albums, concerts, musicals, and whateverelsetherisyoudointhefuture. <3

  14. You guys. I don't know if this has been posted anywhere, but check this snippet from Billboard: "Wander, who also works with the likes of Regina Spektor, Dirty Projectors and Gavin DeGraw, was a-buzz with talk of his clients' upcoming projects -- specifically Spektor's completed (and unannounced) next record, on track for a 2012 release with tour plans to follow, and the follow-up to Dirty Projectors' breakthrough "Bitte Orca,"
