It was an amazing show, and great to see a bunch of you all afterwards! Open is definitely one of my new favorite songs. and dentistgirl, your pictures are amazing. Brianna-- i have your picture with Regina (and it's darn cute!) so if you post your email here when you get a chance, I can send it to you. hope your trip home went okay!

I ordered mine through the presale too. I got an email about 2 weeks ago saying they had been mailed and received them a few days later. I wouldn't be too worried yet, because it says you should receive the tickets by May 8th, which is still about 2 weeks away. But maybe there's a contact you can email to ask or something?

^ Glad you guys liked them!!! I suppose this is self-promotionary, but I started a music blog a few months ago, where I post new bands that I find etc., in case anyone's interested in taking a look, here's the link: http://earsinmyheadphones.wordpress.com/ And the name is (sort of) taken from regina lyrics haha

quote: Originally posted by Be like the water, people.: thanks for the update! I wish you could have gone to the concert, but it's still cool that you can share with us before anyone else can lol! i'm soooooooooooo psyched to hear all these songs live!! welcome! We'll both get to see them live in May though She's playing Laughing With now. before this was Ne Me Quitte Pas (the new one, obviously I suppose) I keep staying on the line, hoping she'll play one of the new songs, but maybe she's saving them so that the first time everyone hears them is on the CD?

My parents are at the concert, but I couldn't go.... I just got a call from my dad. picked it up and it's a phone broadcast of regina playing Oh Marcello!!!!!!!! Edit: now she's playing Firewood aaaaahhhhhhhh Edit 2: the setlist from the section of the concert I've heard so far is Blue Lips, Oh Marcello, Firewood, On the Radio, Ballad of a Politician, and now Patron Saint. God, It's so weird hearing these songs like Oh Marcello and Patron Saint played live, songs that we thought never again would we have the chance to hear live. I can't hear too clearly because I'm listening over the phone, but it sounds like there's some sort of extra percussion or production that's been added to Patron Saint. Nothing too heavy though.

Two singers I've been listening to a lot lately are Gregory Alan Isakov and James Vincent McMorrow. Coincidentally, they both have three-word names and sing mellow, folksy stuff. James Vincent McMorrow reminds me a lot of Jeff Buckley. Here's a song from each of them... Gregory Alan Isakov - That Moon Song James Vincent McMorrow - We Don't Eat (the entire album, Early In The Morning is fabulous he also does an excellent cover of "Someone Like You." I think I like it better than Adele's...

Welcome Choo Sum! So nice to have people from so many different parts of the world! Your English seems pretty darn good if you ask me. I’m taking a class on Southeast Asia right now, so I’m learning a little bit about Malaysia... hope to go there one day I’ve been around here for a while, but it seems I’ve never gotten around to filling this out, so here goes… Stats Name or nickname: Miriam Age: 20 Gender: female Orientation: straight Relationship status: single Location: upstate NY, USA Languages : English, Mandarin Chinese, Spanish. But Spanish less and less because now the Chinese in my brain is overtaking the Spanish. Life Occupation : College Student Hobbies : Anything that involves being outdoors (especially backpacking and bicycling), listening to music, trying to play music, cooking Interests : foreign cultures and languages, music, minimalism, political theory Political Views : Socially liberal and fiscally conservative, pretty much libertarian Religious Views : Jewish Favorite Things Foods : Seafood, marshmallows, cheese (but not together!) Color : varies Books : The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Dove, Harry Potter TV : Weeds, Parenthood, The Office Movies : City of God, Into the Wild, Forrest Gump, Goodbye Lenin Music : A lot of folkish music and some other stuff… Regina, Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros, Adam Green, Ben Kweller, Patrick Wolf, Florence + the Machine, the Avett Brothers, Bob Dylan, Reggie Watts, Mika, James Vincent McMorrow, Modest Mouse Misc Origin or meaning of your Username: One of my favorite regina lyrics is “Let’s get a silver bullet trailer and have a baby boy, I’ll safety pin his clothes all cool and you’ll graffiti up his toys.” My username was an attempt to use this lyric : ) First time you heard Regina: It was probably around 2004 or 2005. A family friend sang Flyin’ in a recital she did and I thought all the stomping and clapping was awesome. I guess that’s not really hearing Regina, but hearing a regina song. Anyway I kept the program from the recital so I could remember to look up “regina spektor” when I got home and I downloaded some songs. It wasn't until about a year later, when Chemo Limo came on on my ipod’s shuffle that I became obsessed. Top 5 Regina Spektor songs: perhaps Belt, Summer in the City, Human of the Year, Us, Dulce et Decorum Est Pro Patria Mori? I also think her “Mockingbird” satire is genius. Random fact about yourself: I can ride a unicycle Who/What inspires you: music, big landscapes, genuine and passionate people, unexpected kindness Best thing about last year: I got to see my family a lot Looking forward to this year: I’ll be living in China for 6 months (the summer and then a semester). And hopefully my Chinese will get good!!!!! -
I've also got an extra pair of tickets for the NY show in row C if anyone's interested. I'd prefer to sell them as a pair if possible... they were $143 including service fees.

"Official" video for Call Them Brothers
silver bullet trailer replied to makingstuffup's topic in Upon the new year coming
Love this Anyone notice the "not for distribution" that's written faintly at the bottom for a good portion of the video? I'm guessing that means it's official and leaked...? -
My parents got tickets to this and are going without me (cause I'm away at school) At least they've caught spektoritis? anyway, have fun guys!
