  4. yeah reiteration of the topic i just posted but whatever. THANK YOU!! How Fleeting Preservation Is too much time spent trying to crawl into a hole trying to crawl out of that hole I followed the path of a piece of bread travelling from a little sparrow's beak to another little sparrow's beak he picked it up and flew with it, then dropped it then this other one picked it up and flew with it again then they broke it into pieces ate it up and forgot that it ever existed they were still hungry at the end they were still hungry at the end i was inside my office at the time and i got real scared thought i saw two snakes slithering then i remembered snakes don't live in apartmented areas too much time spent and i'm spent there is an old meatball wrapped inside of tin foil lying on the bottom shelf of our fridge a lesson in how fleeting preservation is
  5. A Steady Diet of Propaganda - interview with Regina Spektor

Oh man, amazing. I'm happy to hear her comments on the evolution of her music, because certain songs on 11:11 are a completely different style than songs on Songs, and then certain songs on Songs, like Samson, seem to come from a totally different place than ones on Soviet Kitsch. And I can totally here the stylistic difference, but I can't quite quantify it. Fantastic to hear her talk about her music that way.
  6. A Lesson In How Fleeting Preservation Is

Lyrics to an unreleased Reginka song. Are not these song lyrics among the better poetry evah evah? * * How Fleeting Preservation Is* too much time spent trying to crawl into a hole trying to crawl out of that hole I followed the path of a piece of bread travelling from a little sparrow's beak to another little sparrow's beak he picked it up and flew with it, then dropped it then this other one picked it up and flew with it again then they broke it into pieces ate it up and forgot that it ever existed they were still hungry at the end they were still hungry at the end i was inside my office at the time and i got real scared thought i saw two snakes slithering then i remembered snakes don't live in apartmented areas too much time spent and i'm spent there is an old meatball wrapped inside of tin foil lying on the bottom shelf of our fridge a lesson in how fleeting preservation is

  8. You heard Chemo Limo live?

well i know the song makes me sad. maybe if i understood more of what it meant...? of course SHE understands what it means, so maybe she would be too sad playing it live, tear drops rolling down her arms and shorting out her Yamaha. haha she only doesn't play it to save money... she can't buy a new yamaha for every show. one day when she's on the level of U2-cash-flow she'll buy a new keyboard for each show and play the song of weeping. but not to make too light of it. i mean the song is definitely about death, cancer, and inexorable demise, to me, but i don't know what it means in literal terms.
  9. Regina in Paris... Ooo joy!!

oh wow i almost cried reading your post. to imagine her there over in paris with all of you seeing her. you are so lucky, and i'm so glad you gave her all those gifts. oh and someone gave her flowers at the end of the gig? that's so sweet. across the pond and performing is quite a huge jump... just continuing this big year long tour. i'm glad you all made her feel welcome, oh. it makes me happy to read of her european exploits.
  10. You heard Chemo Limo live?

i have heard she says no to some requests because certain songs are hard to play. i don't know enough about piano playing to know by listening to the song. you're lucky to be hearing her at the sidewalk cafe and stuff... ah, as much as i love los angeles, there's no regina hometown here.
  11. You heard Chemo Limo live?

Has anyone heard Chemo Limo live? I don't think she plays it live. Anybody know why? Just wondering.

  13. 4/21 LA Roxy Show - A Review!

yeah this interview is not bad, i'm just saying that usually reviews refer to the shyness of her behavior, or the "cute" aspect of her music as cloying and fake. and it bothers me. thasallllll.
  14. 4/21 LA Roxy Show - A Review!

what bothers me is nearly every review i read says something derisive about her shy attitude. yes folks, she actually has humility, holy crap. why must they assume she is fake? i'm going to burn down reuters! and rolling stone! hahaha. nah, but i'll mail them some poop-in-a-bag.
