In the course of a few hours, Far went from #1 on Amazon to #14, the first 13 slots all Michael Jackson albums. Regina deserves that #1! what's the rush in buying Michael jackson's allbums all of the sudden?, so the guy dies and people get to like him more and feel the need to have his albums? I don't have anything against MJ fans but wtf...i don't get it No doubt it's the same sheeple who buy Black Eyed Peas latest CD. This was kind of rude. First of all, people from all generations loved Micheal Jackson (including me)so it definitely doesn't mean that they are buying black eye peas. A lot of people grew up with MJs music. His death is tragic. He did so much for music and I don't blame people wanting to share his music to savor his life. I agree...I think all of this is VERY RUDE.....Sorry if MJ died at an inopportune time for u....It's all very disrespectful...he had a family that is grieving....Now Regina is Currently my Favorite artist and i want a number 1 debut for her and for her to get all the accolades she deserves...but Michael Jackson is my Favorite artist of all time....i grew up on his music...and he deserves to have his life celebrated and his death mourned....he did a lot for the world of music, video and dance..look at the videos and music and artists that were out when he dropped the "Thriller" cd and just see how original and different he was from everyone else....and look at the music world now and see how much he influenced and changed it...yes a lot of the artists he influences arent very good...but he was amazing...and Thriller's world wide sales are more than double the #2 best selling album....104 million copies of 1 Album!!! that alone deserves mad respect....I believe Regina, being a musician, recognizes Michael's accomplishments and being the sweet and kind person she is, would be very disappointed in your behavior.

Unfortunately i can't remember the specific lyrics...in holocaust deniers i remember something about them in their steam room admiring each others hair and something about how they should be put in a gas chamber and about calling the truth a lie....all i remember about "riot gear" is something about her outfits and she wears the "riot gear" but the song seemed really short and my memory of it is very vague
  9. Beacon Theatre - June 17, 2009

Whooo! my first live Regina show and it was amazing!!! loved it!!! and that new song " all the holocaust deniers" is so powerful....it made me cry and not many songs can do that...."riot gear" i need to hear again...it was softer than i expected ...the title made me expect something more like "machine"...the only thing i didnt liek was teh crowd around me....they were lifeless....tehy didnt even move to the music....there were people cheering and screaming all throughout and i was very disappointed i wasnt among them because i think i was the only one screaming in my section...but anyway i do hope someone got the audio...everyone needs to hear the new track...and i was very surprised and somewhat disappointed she didnt do "genius","dance anthem" or "two birds" but i love what she did do so it ddint bother me too much. All in all i cant wait for her 2 come back to nyc....
  10. "Far" Regina's Next Album :D

This cd is gorgeous!! no better word for it....i love everything except i cant get behind the chorus to "machine"...maybe it'll grow on me cuz other than the chorus i do like the song....and "the calculation" should have been the first single....i can so see that being a hit....i really hope she releases it next...its not my fave song but i think it has the most hit potential
  11. Has anyone seen Lady GaGa?

yeah i dont like her either....she seems like shes trying to hard....maybe its just who she is but thats the impression i get

  14. Recommend a book here...

My favorite book is "The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay". It's a Wonderfully Epic novel by Michael Chabon, the author of "Wonderboys"...heres a link to it's wiki page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/T...of_Kavalier_%26_Clay

God its good, its an artsy and edgy horror/drama flick. Definitely the best vampire movie of 2008, sorry Twilight lovers. OMG yes this movie was so good. a couple of my friends saw it too and i couldnt believe that they just thought it was ok...i think they were expecting a lot of action....but i loved how it treated vampires in a more realistic fashion...i especially loved how it dealt with what happens to a vampire if they come in unannounced....if u like foreign films u should definetely give this a try

We have some great people here, but mostly in the independent scene. Check out some singers I posted on another topic. They are really good. thats not too surprising considering how in the U.S. many of the best acts are also independent or underground. anwyay thanks! im gonna check out some of these acts....i used to have a brazilian friend (we've lost contact) and her family was always playing brazilian music and i wound up buying the "woman on top" soundtrack which i think is very good but other than that i don't know any good brazilian music.
  19. Artists resembling Regina...

most of you have probably heard of Jill Scott. Shes a soul singer with a heavy jazz influence. Anyway she has an amazing voice and what she has in common with Regina (other than my love) is an great ability to tell a story and an amazing stage presence..heres some links if ur interested http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cxvvmSEbrVU .
  20. What are you listening to right now?

quote: Originally posted by Reginaoverdose: quote: Originally posted by Ethan Frome: "Ode to Divorce." Honestly, it's one of my new favorites. ...You just wait. You're going to have a new favorite every week until you're....well, until you're head over heels in love and obsessed haha. It always happens that way Im listening to Dance Anthem... R.I.P (of the 80's) I only just became a fan a little over a year ago and that statement is so true...it'll even be a song ive listened to many times already but then i'll just notice something i never noticed before and that will be my new favorite.... listening to "open"...my current new fave
  21. LAUGHING WITH VIDEO!!!

please don't yell at me but i don't like the video....i mean its very artistic...i love the visuals...i just dont think it fits the song very well...its very distracting from the lyrics and emotions of the song...its a great video for a different song...just not for "laughing with"

  24. how did you get into regina?

hey RJ my bday is right after urs....nov 1st..... Anyway i'm a very recent Regina fan...just a lil over a year...even though i had heard of her at least a year before then.... I first saw the "fidelity" video and really didnt pay her any attention...I've always been more of an R&B person...listening to Jill Scott and Maxwell and stuff liek that...and so it used to be a lil harder for me to get into artist of other genres ( thank god for the internet allowing me to explore and expand my musical horizons!)....so anyway i 4got all about regina and then my coworker asked me what i was listening to and i told her "amy winehouse" and she was like well i cant stop listening to Regina Spektor" and again i ignored Regina and let it pass....then one day i was reading soemthing about "feist" who i had just recently gotten into and the article listed regina as one of her peers...so now that i finallyhad my own computer and ease of access i downloaded "Begin to Hope".....so the first 2 tracks play and im not very impressed....and then "Sampson" came on and i was like "wow what a beautiful song" and then i was liking everything that was coming on and eventually dell in love with those first 2 tracks i initially didn't like....and now i have over a 100 songs in my ipod of Regina and I can't stop listening to her!and i think my obsession will only increase as im gonna see her live for the first time next month and shes gonna be appearing everywhere to promote her new cd..and none of my friends will join in my excitement as none of them like her...well a couple like her but arent into her like i am and get very bored very quickly with talkin about her and shes all i seem to want to talk about right now...sorry i didnt edit this overlong rambling post but i have to go listen to Regina now
