  1. HIAS Benefit - 2/23/11

A certain someone, who shall remain nameless for now, did manage to grab the audio. Hopefully we will hear those files in a few days or so... Serge, Aaron, Jamie, Kate, Betsy, Patty, Mikaela, awesome spending some time with all of you as usual. Thank you for your friendship...
  2. Wee Rants

Just saw this about Claire Danes... quote: Some sources report that Danes had her first onscreen kiss in an episode of My So-Called Life, before she had one in real life.
  3. Regina Spektor Acapellas (vocal tracks)?

I sent Aaron a note. You should hear something sooner or later. Sit tight!
  4. Wee Rants

I suggest you do not treat this as your first kiss then. As an actor, you need to separate yourself from what you are playing. This might be the key to making this easier for you. If you were to slap somebody on stage, you wouldn't think of it as your first slap. It is merely part of the blocking of the show. Take this kiss to that level and nothing more. It is not your first kiss as there is nothing behind it other than the fact that you are required to do it for the show. It just doesn't count....
  5. Wee Rants

I'd go with option D. None of the above. You can't force your first kiss for the sake of acting. If it is meant to be, before the show, it will happen. If it does come down to guy A, at the show, then you don't want him to like it anyway as you said you have no interest in him. My other thought is, exactly what kind of kiss would be required for a school play? I can't imagine that you would be forced to use your tongue. There are several methods for faking a kiss. Please discuss them with your director. http://www.musical-theater-kids.com/fake-kissing.html Lastly, never ever do anything that makes you feel uncomfortable, or that you do not want to do. Probably not the answer you were looking for, but please, give it some thought... Best wishes!
  6. pictures and videos of interest...

interview was put together by HIAS. It's titled: myStory:Regina Spektor. quote: Russian-born Jewish singer-songwriter Regina Spektor reflects on her immigration to New York in 1989--from the fantasies she and her cousin had about moving to the tropics to the realities of adjusting to life in the Bronx, where their new Jewish community became an extension of her family. Regina came to the United States through HIAS, an organization that rescues, resettles, and reunites vulnerable refugees. Her interview is part of HIAS' myStory project; view more videos at www.myStory.hias.org.

    - Lana Del Rey
  9. Some music of mine

Jon- Lindow Man- sort of reminds me of Angelo Badalamenti meets Explosions in the Sky. Plum Tree- enjoyed the layers in this one. They both seem a wee bit repetitive at times. Are there vocals that aren't there yet?
  10. I don't think you tried, you did!!! Congratulations. And to echo Raph, welcome to the stix...

  14. What are you listening to right now?

You and I Know - Ra Ra Riot I believe this is the only Ra Ra Riot song Alexandra Lawn takes the lead vocals on. It's amazing and reminds me in places of a young Stevie Nicks...

The gif must be hosted online somewhere and you will need the URL to the gif. Example: http: \\www.reginagif.com\nameofgif.gif I inserted a space between the colon and the \\ so i could demonstrate. You would not put that space in there. Then you use the [ IMG] & [ /IMG] codes. Using the above as an example (again adding spaces, remove all spaces when you create sig): [ IMG]http: \\www.reginagif.com\nameofgif.gif[ /IMG] Once you know your URL go to your Go>Personal Zone>Profile>View Edit Complete Profile>Signature>Edit and place the above code in the box. Done. Hope this helps. If not let us know. Welcome to the stix!
