  1. Political orientation of artists

so musiclover, you're this big right winger. so you see no need for any sort of change in the global economic situation? you think there aren't massive overwhelming pollution problems? you think it's okay that little girls work twelve hours a day in countries where there's no sewer and live in their own shit, and that the stupid little widgets they make should be shipped here so you and I can buy them for peanuts? you think that every corrupt leader in africa should be allowed to continue to mine his minerals and sell them here while the masses are running around with missing limbs, and starving? you think every slum in america is just fine? you think capitalism is just fine and dandy? you think there's an easter bunny? did your father ever beat you with a bible?

i'm arrogant and dangerous. i haven't caught up with this thread, and won't. i don't really follow threads, i've just noticed that i'm a pretty good thread killer. when i chime in, people tend to back off. goody. i'll say this: of all the things regina has said and done, socio-politically, like writing uh-merica and ghost of corporate future, the most pertinent and poignant thing i think i've ever heard her say is in an interview where she said, and i'll paraphrase and quote, when asked if democracy is for everyone: 'that's the fucking problem, people thinking anything is for everyone.' ok, i embellished with the f word. but it's the most bold fucking thing. this little bitch comes from russia and writes uh-merica. what a pair of balls. she is the absolute righteous artist. just think about that. the mistake is people thinking anything is for everyone. i mean how utterly magnanimous, yet not. is it control, or not? like a drunk, but not. look, i'm a control freak. i'm so left-wing, it's absurd. i want total control. we pay attention to the ecology first, or we're dead. yeah, that's dangerous and arrogant, musiclover. got any better ideas? i'm a drunk, but i'm a very hard working talented drunk, and all i do is read, i do not watch television, ever, two years now. my post, back a page or two on this thread, was a little contrived. it's part of an endless rant from science fiction that i've been writing for a few years. anyway, left-wing, right-wing, it's all fucking bullshit, in the mainstream. american politicians who are one or the other are generally a joke. people like noam chomsky and amy goodman, on the left, are for real. they walk the walk, and make sense. since i'm so left wing, i can't really appreciate anyone who's right wing and is equally sincere, but there are people. i used to appreciate george will, but he's a fucking idiot. lately i've been skimming some lyndon larouche, and that nut actually makes a lot of sense, he's very smart, and has a lot of balls. only thing is, his solution is to build nuclear power plants all over the country. ahh, no! obama is a stooge, but at least he has a heart and a brain. after 8 years of the ultimate corrupt moron, i won't complain. it's all about economy. economic science, as practiced in the past few hundred years on this planet is a fucking travesty. adam smith, keanse, any of them, it's beyond laughable. and these people are venerated as some kind of geniuses. how about ayn rand? the anti-regina. comes here from russia and thinks she's some kind of capitalist. fuck her. but she wrote two absolutely gorgeous novels, atlas shrugged and the fountainhead. so art can be appreciated even if one is completely opposed to the ideology of the artist. anyway, i had a point, but it was on top of my head, and i shaved it off. workers of the world unite. work will make you free. work and love keep you sane - freud don't count your chickens before you kill and eat them. chris cavalari let's dance, let's shout shake yer body down to the ground i'm on a tier where no tears should ever fall there's nothing like emptying a cartridge at the sun

  11. Song Game

In the seventies, me and my friends would play this game, sitting around bonfires in the woods, drinking half-kegs of beer. First person to go says a line from a song, or a partial line. Everyone has to try and name the song. Whoever does goes next. It has to be the same song, as sometimes there is a line from another song that's the same. It was all of course based on the honor system, as we didn't have google out there in the sticks. But I guess if anyone here cheats, well it'll be part of the fun, since I don't trust any of you as far as I could throw yas. Everyone present has to officially say pass for the player to go again. If someone gets it, they go next. I guess on here, we can skip the passing part - too complicated. Just fly with it. If you get it, just name the song, then you go, you don't have to wait till I agree, as in the corporeal version. Okay I'll go first: in the middle of my room I did not hear from you

  17. Chemo Limo

um, i can't even read this stuff, or respond. i read the first one. i had chemo, i had kids, and i had a favorite aunt who died and forsook chemo, when i first found regina, but she was rich, so it's way complex. the song has made me cry like 5 hundred times probably. i can't think interpretations. i have mine. i think it's apples, oranges, cutting hairs, soup, pickels, and the band played on.

and seaside rendevous. like from another era. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...SAyw&feature=related thick as a brick - jethro tull. hadn't been aware that the studio version is now on here in 5 parts. been thinking about the album lately. one of those albums that molded my adolescent reality. used to go see jethro tull often. magical times. the man was the ultimate showman. my middle brother named his kid ian. got inculcated with jethro tull from scott, my middle older brother. we don't talk much anymore without fighting. but we both love that lawnmower movie about the two old guys who were brothers, with sizzy spacek. my brother showed me THAT movie also. what's wrong with this picture, the fuck is mad at me. is there enough irony in life? he doesn't like my regina spektor singing videos. course, he was in the navy. fucking sailor man, give it up. i hate my family, but love them all.
