  1. Let's go to the Movies...

Some parts were too predictable, but others were unexpected. Overall, pretty good, but I may need to read the book now. Also, People seem to like using Better in restaurant scenes.... haha, i know! they used it in restaurant scenes for My Sister's Keeper and Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants 2
  2. Hey I dreamt about Regina!

haha, I listen to regina while reading murder mysteries too but I've never gotten those results! very funny!
  3. Regina's Recurring Motifs

^^I refuse to believe that Dance Anthem is about prostitution.
  4. pictures and videos of interest...

Ok, so the musical my high school is doing is called "On the Town." Could they have picked a more awkward musical? Granted, we're cutting this number, but the rest of the show is just as strange. Here's a clip from the 1949 movie: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AM4L38u5vpE (if you want the really weird part, start watching around 2:15)
  5. What are you listening to right now?

    Blackbird by the Beatles <3
  6. pedicure on my toes toes

  7. Dreams...

this is probably due to the fact that I read way too many Agatha Christies, but I love these dreams that I always have where I'm running around trying to solve this mystery. They are so much fun! Its like I'm playing some sort of game in my subconscious.
  8. Signatures

The first quote in my sig is from I Cut Off My Hair, obviously. I'm not a ballerina myself but I've always been fascinated with them for some reason. The mention of pointe shoes in the song always makes me smile. And plus I always get this mental image of regina running down a busy New York street in pink satin pointe shoes toward the man in rags that is all bloody and beaten up. It sounds gory, but it's actually a really nice thought, regina running to help the one she loves. The second quote was first said sometime in the 1950s by comedian George Gobel. I first heard it when Dennis Miller quoted him onetime. I immediately looked it up because I found it so funny. and the third is just a little food for thought that I made up one day while talking with my friend about the definition of "normal"
  9. pedicure on my toes toes

I can't believe I forgot to put this in my last post but my friends made up a hilarious fast-food parody of this song. I can't remember the whole thing but it starts out like this: "Wake up in the morning feeling like O'Donnel Got my glasses I'm out the door I'm gonna hit McDonald's" instead of "pedicure on our toes" it said "can't even see my toes" the chorus went "can't stop buttons pop"
  10. pedicure on my toes toes

ok...I have some opinions on this song. I like music that breaks molds in any sort of way. Unless the lyrics are really good I will most likely be bored listening to a song that only has bass, drums, and guitar. I have to say that as much as I hate this genre of music, the lyrics catch your attention and the instumentation is cool and different in its sparatic edginess. but i'm not becoming a Ke$ha fan anytime soon.
  11. What are you Eeting right now?

red velvet cake leftover from valentine's day yum!
  12. Pacifism is childish nonsense

  13. Uh-Merica

I was reading the Political Orientation of Artists thread and started wondering how this song might fit into Reg's views. I would give my opinion except I tend to be waaay to literal in my interpretations. Any ideas? Mrs. E. Roosevelt never heard me shoot my gun Mrs. E. Roosevelt didn't even know I owned one Somewhere between the cobblestone floor and the slated wooden ceiling Cuddling my semi-automatic, what a very fuzzy feeling Oh, there's nothing like emptying the cartridge at the sun Uh-merica Uh-merica Oh, there's nothing like emptying the cartridge at the sun. Oh we're born alone and we're covered by m-m-m-mother's kisses The mind has already forgotten what the body still misses Somewhere between the sticky floor and the cracks in the ceiling Cuddling my semi automatic, what a very fuzzy feeling Oh, there's nothing like emptying the cartridge at the sun Uh-merica Uh-merica Oh, there's nothing like emptying the cartridge at the sun
  14. Us

I saw a random youtube comment a while ago where someone suggested this song might be about the fall of the Soviet Union. Think there might be any truth to that?
  15. Good News Thread!

I'm going to see Ben Folds live tonight!! considering he's my second favorite artist (right behind reg, of course) this is very exciting!
  16. Valentine's Day

so I'm not doing anything on real Valentine's day, but the day after in school I'm doing little "I appreciate you" thing for my friends..... and I'm seriously considering printing out the valentines from the SGTSK pdf and giving them to my best friends....cause they understand my regina obsession.

I took this picture through a window, obviously...I would've gone outside and taken a better picture, but I'm not a fan of the cold. I heard they got hit with snow in Texas....I live in Pennsylvania and haven't had school all week.
  19. Political orientation of artists

^^^^I always thought reg was the epitome of what my civics teacher always says about how almost no one is completely liberal or conservative, left or right, or whatever. She has that generally liberal artist side to her (global warming and planned parenthood events) and her more conservative immigrant side that believes in the values of America's foundation because they gave her a good life and can give other people that too.
  20. Twists of Fate/Strange Happenings/Odd Coincidences.

  21. Name That reg Tune

Uncle Bobby, right? "I'm so lucky"
  22. Bonnaroo 2010

Diane Birch, She & Him, AND Regina! I wish I could go!
  23. Reginopoly!!

I was perusing a store the other day when I saw a Beatles Edition Monopoly. My initial reaction was "Awesome! How much is this?" My secondary reaction was "Aahh! Reginopoly!" So if we made a Regina Spektor Edition Monopoly: -what places could we buy? -what would be on cards like "Chance" and "Community Chest"? -what would take place of railroads and utilities? -what would the playing pieces be? -what would we use as houses and hotels? and, as always, anything else you can think of.
  24. Reginopoly!!

^^^That idea sounds amazing! I'm sure I'll think of more suggestions soon...keep posting pics!
  25. Reginopoly!!

^^^^I had an idea for the trains, too, but I think I like your's better. Mine were: A Boy On A Train Railroads With A Birthmark On His Forehead Railroads Listening To Language Tapes Railroads All He Hears is Birds Railroads
