I'm enjoying the photos and stories I love hearing about people meeting Regina - I was lucky enough to meet her once, and it was unlike any other time I've met an artist or musician. She did not make any attempt to 'finish up' with chatting with me, until she could see that I was done, and she did that with every person there, and wouldn't get in the van until she was sure nobody had missed out. I've never experienced such a thoughtful superstar
  2. Thanks so much for the demo, Jesse It's been quite a year so far for Regina goodies.
  3. HIAS Benefit - 2/23/11

I've been away for a bit, but I'm super excited about the new record. But this show - man. I am literally sitting here working on a Tuesday morning with my headphones on and with tears in my eyes. At last - a perfect recording of 'Firewood' without anybody ruining the solo by laughing. And on and on. Thank you so much to those who recorded this.

  11. Meeting Regina!

Welcome along Noj! I met Regina, along with around 20 other fans after the Melbourne show earlier this year. We all waited in line at the side of the venue for quite a while - around two hours - before she and the band came out. The band went to their van, but Regina hung out with the fans, signing autographs, taking pics etc. I was thrilled that she spent as much time as was necessary to make sure everyone there had a chance to properly meet her. I've met a heck of a lot of musicians, and she was probably the one who seemed most genuinely happy to meet her fans out of all of them. I've heard from other fans that she usually tries to meet anyone waiting for her, unless she is either unwell, or if there is some reason this can't happen at the venue (eg nowhere safe to have people waiting). As for gifts, you have to remember she's coming straight from a show probably into a van, so although I'm sure she'll be happy to receive it (there's a video of her being given a 'book' that came from the members of this forum which shows this), you might want to consider how easy it will be to carry, or put aside in the van, etc. Other than that, say hi for me
  12. Regina's Updates

I can't think of another message I've read that is so bittersweet.
  13. Firewood (The Piano's Not Firewoood Yet)

This is maybe the best version of the song so far, from Denmark: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...cgLI&feature=related
  14. Bear spektor ??

Great plan Let us know how you progress with it!
  15. RIP Dan Cho

This is such a shock. My heart goes out especially to Regina and his family and friends, but we've all lost a wonderful musician.
  16. I'm not sure if this has been posted here, but Regina herself posted it on Twitter/Facebook. It makes me happy in so many ways Edit: And I love the people just outside the door - do you think they're wondering 'who's that lucky guy meeting Regina Spektor!?'
  17. Regina at The White House!

    Speechless and wordless.

  19. The I've Never Seen a Regina Show Club

Yay for Portugal! Does anyone have a list of all the countries Regi's played so far?
  20. Some more from Melbourne can be seen here If you click on any of the photos, it blows them up slightly, and you can run though them.
  21. A Place to Ask Any Regina Related Question

Does anybody know if that's true? I haven't read the book yet, but this thread: http://reginaspektor.infopop.c...54107688/m/318101698 suggests it's more than possible, as 'Soviet Kitsch' is a theme of the novel. 22. Regina drummer

I gotta say that Dave's a hell of a drummer - very active and into it.
  23. Australian Tour?

Yeah, 100% agreed Usually I hate meeting my musical heroes, because there's a chance the illusion will be shattered by them turning out to be nasty or something, but I knew I had nothing to fear with meeting Regina. The Saturday night show was in some ways even more amazing than Friday night - she played a similar setlist, but included Music Box, Better and Love You're A Whore, and left off Ballad Of A Politician, and maybe something else which I can't remember. She told a story of going to her third ever sporting event, an Australian Rules Football game - very cool and funny story. She also stopped during Bobbing For Apples, saying she forgot the words, but picked it up again and finished it normally.
