  7. UK Tour.

Hi, because I was travelling this summer I missed Regina while she was in the UK (much to my annoyance). I heard from a friend that regina will be playing in the UK again in december, but I don't know where they heard it from. Is there anywhere I can find out the exact dates of Reginas next UK tour?

  10. and fidelity and better and on the radio

I'm interested to hear these too if anyone has any.
  11. WHOA! SAMSON??

it is different, and i read an interview somewhere saying she re-recorded it many, many times. Aha, found it ( here) quote: The new version of "Samson" [on Begin To Hope] was really hard. I wanted to do a new version because I hadn't realized how slow the one on Songs was. All of the songs on Songs were one take each, almost for archiving purposes. I had like 28 of those, and then I narrowed it down to 12 and slapped on a cover and put it out as Songs. And then I never listened to it again. But "Samson," which is the first track on Songs—a lot of people really cared for it. They were requesting it at shows, and I loved playing it, but I didn't have it on a record that was going to get promoted by a record label. I self-released Songs, so it's not in stores or anything like that. But I went back and listened to it again, and it was so horrible. I couldn't believe that people listened to it and liked it. It was driving me crazy that it existed, and I wanted to obliterate it and replace it. So we were recording, and I recorded like, I swear, I don't know, 70 versions. And none of them were exactly right. But there was this one that everybody at the record label loved, and David loved. And then two weeks after we mastered the record, I called up David at midnight and was like, "I know you're going to hate me, but we need to re-record 'Samson.' It's the wrong version, I just can't live with it." And then I called my label and told them the same thing. And they were like, "This is like that movie The Conversation. You're going to systematically destroy your whole record." Because I have that potential. When I was watching that movie, it hit close to home. I've done that kind of stuff in records, where you start going back and you want to just redo everything, destroy everything, because you think it all sucks and you can do it better. I bet it is one of the earlier recordings, i wonder if she (or whoever uploaded it) are aware which version it is... it could be a mix up.
  12. isn't it 'Spaciba'? that looks almost like its pronounced 'spacebar' but its not. I always call her regina (with a short g, like the russian name) out of habit because its one of my friends middle names who is very particular about it. Its a little embarassing with i'm trying to introduce someone to her music and they correct me on the pronounciation of her name.
  13. lyrical help

i need help with lyrics i can't quite make out again, Its in the song 'Begin to Hope' quote: Begin to Hope and all the colours start to change beneath the light, you might forget that the worlds so sad. You might forget that things are awful bad, and its alright, if you eat all the apples from the knowledge tree bowl. The fact that their plastic shouldn't deter you at all. Just grab your <something> and write your message on the wall. I was here, yeah i was here. We know that our whole world is all around us all the time, and still we might forget to stand up straight. We might forget that we should never wait, and its alright, if we don't let the others make the last calls. The fact that they own us shouldn't deter us at all. Just grab your <something> and write your message on the wall. Yeah, i was here, i was here. Uh-huh, i was here, i was here. I was here but now i've gone to take a walk, and i won't be abck until you know my name. Cause we're not all the same thing. Begin to hope, x 5 and its alright, if you eat all the apples from the knowledge tree bowl. The fact that their plastic shouldn't deter you at all I grab my <something> and wrote my message on the wall. Yeah, Regina was here, Regina was here. Uh-huh, Regina was here, Regina was here. I was here but now i've gone, to take a walk and i won't be back, cause its a lovely day. And none of us know how long we've got to stay. Begin to Hope. Begin to hope and all the colours start to begin to start to open all the change beneath the light and all us start to change beneath the open all begin to light and all the colours begin to open light and change begin to light and hope and start to change beneath the light and all the colours start to change beneath. Begin to hope and all the light begin to change. Begin to hope

  17. I just need Dust to Dust, Dog and Pony (i'm sure i had it once...), I cut off my hair, One String Blues and Lucky Penny to have them all, which makes 114 recordings yes? (excluding Whisper on Soviet Kitsch, but i guess thats not really a song)
  18. FIDELITY music video

quote: Originally posted by andreseng: quote: Originally posted by JohnnyC: Ummm... why is she playing piano in the video? Ummm... because she can? I think hes asking because theres no piano in the begin to hope recording of the piece. I think the answer is, the girl in the video isn't regina (well it is. You know what i mean), its a character. The lyrics are very based around music, its about music being an outlet for unrequited love (at least, thats how i see it), so it makes sense to show the 'character' playing the piano.
  19. fidelity video!!!!!!!!

The video never starts playing, it shows all the 'vh1' advert splashes, but never starts the video
  20. DOWNLOAD Regina 2006-04-09 Boston, MA

And bear in mind, no one will be uploading anything from her albums, so thats already 250mb less of your collection that can be uploaded. I think someone should do it
  21. A little question

Im pretty sure its 'And with a sigh grew silent.' Its definately 'And with a ... grew silent.' and it sounds a little like 'sigh' and it makes perfect sense, im putting the confusion down to her accent. I editted my last post, if anyone finds something that works better ill edit it again :>
  22. A little question

hmm, well i'm pretty sure the lyrics are not 'And we, the salt, grew sadder' because that doesn't make any sense at all. It sounds more like 'and we, the sad, grew silent' or possible 'and with the sad crew silent' but i think the first one is closer
  23. A little question

Thanks for all the help, i've updated it and changed the download link so it works. Korinnasaurus; the track i have doesn't have any speaking at the start Now i have a little question, i've recently started loving 'Human of the Year' (which can be found here) Anyway, i love it, lots, and i can't make out one lyric and its annoying me, so any help would be appreciated. Also I don't know who the named man is (Carl Prejektorinski?), I think hes made up, but i may be wrong. quote: Hello Hello Calling a Carl Prejektorinski to the front of the catherdral. You have won, dear sir may i congratulate you first? Oh what an honour. Human, human of the year, you are. Human, human of the year, you are. Why are you so scared? You stand there shaking in the pew. The icons are whispering to you, they're just old men, like on the benches in the park, except their balding spots are glistening with gold. Human, human of the year, you are. Human, human of the year, you are. Ahh ah ah. You have won. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Outside the cars are beeping out a song just in your honour. And although they do not know it, all mankind are now your brothers. And thus the cathedral had spoken, wishing well to all the sinners. And with a sigh grew silent. Until next year's big human winner. Outside the cars are beeping out a song just in your honour. And although they do not know it all mankind are now your brothers. All mankind are now your brothers. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hello Hello Calling a Carl Prejektorinski to the front of the catherdral. You have won.
  24. Samson is my favourite!

It is really, really nice. Most people don't give it a second chance, they listen to the first 10seconds, realise its different from the Songs recording and dislike it because of that. I bet most people haven't even listened long enough to know shes added string accompaniment.
