  1. pictures and videos of interest...

I stayed up waaaay too late (or early at that point) watching a lot of the videos in this thread. I never really listened to Dog and Pony that much, I guess because the quality of it wan't as great as all the other recordings out there, but after watching the entire set of Reg's infamous valentine's day show, Dog and Pony is definitely up there with my favorites now. From the 2004 Valentine's day show, with the lingerie giveaway. <3 Regina, I love you and your music.
  2. What are you listening to right now?

Collide - Rachael Yamgata Unravel - Bjork (it's Thom Yorke of Radiohead's favorite song ever <3) I just finished learning Samson.. I'm proud of myself. I even have the strange little lilting notes thing she does sometimes down.
  3. Good News Thread!

well, It wasn't all that great. haha! it was good for a summer reading book that is. our list has 3 nonfics, and 2 fictions, and the book i finished was probably one of the better ones of the 5. The good book, Nectar in a Sieve by Markala Kamandaya is a nonfic about the life of a woman in India. It was pretty interesting, but i'm not sure that i would recommend it due to it's differences to real life today. The book is about 20 or so years old. The bad book, Terrorism's Challenge to Society, was generally.. boring.. i mean, they could've went at such an interesting topic in many different ways to make it great, but.. it just didn't hold my attention well. I even have friends from the middle east, and it didn't spark too much interest. What kind of books do you like though? i'd be glad to recommend you a few!

  5. Wee Rants

hahaha, I'll fight for my virus filled and wonderfully flawed PC anyday. It has served me loyally this far in our adventures! quote: Originally posted by Rosa!: I'm a PC person. I think Apple computers are prettier, but they're so overpriced that I think they're not worth it. Amen. It's just such a big leap for a Microsoft user, moneywise, and learning-curve wise.. quote: Originally posted by bum bum bum: I love my ipod. I take it with me everywhere. For the most part I haven't had any problems with it except for some itunes issues. You should get an ipod! If you want I probably won't decide until closer to the holiday season! haha, it honestly will probably depend on what store sells what product cheapest.. honestly, i would be happy with either, considering i have a cheap mp3 player at the moment :\ Thanks for the advice though I'll have to make the decision someday

I am a hybrid child, raised on Microsoft and Apple, and honestly, when it comes to everyday usage, i prefer Microsoft.. idk, Apple is of course more creative, and generally more impressive. but it's sometimes a bit overrated.. Microsoft is already so universal in the business world, it's just easier for me to be with Microsoft. haha, sounds like an intimate relationship. Plus, Zune Software.. it is so much prettier than iTunes. Zune in general kind of sucks compared to the massive iPod army, but the Zune software is so much more visually pleasing than iTunes. but Zune FAILS compared to iPod. I was a Zune owner, and I'm just a bit scared to cross over to an Ipod or go for the ZuneHD..
  7. Regina at The White House!

Could you please have the human decency to be quiet, reg played at the White House. Even if you hate Obama because, well, you are the way you are, and nobody can take that away from you, just be freaking happy for reg.. She's playing among the likes of Paul McCartney. If that's not something of a big freaking accomplisment, I don't know what is. Reg was obviously overjoyed to do it. You should be happy for her, and with her instead of bogging down everything because of your own political views... Yeah, the US has created one of the biggest, if not THE biggest catastrophe ever. Everyone here is aware of that, and not a single American is happy about the oil spill. As for Reg's political views, don't criticize. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Deal with it. End of discussion, no one is right, no one is wrong, reg played, we're happy. lather, rinse, repeat. IN CONCLUSION GUESS WHAT? Reg played in a place that few other people will in their entire lives. Yes, Regina Spektor, your homegirl, from tha NYC, played for the leader of the USA. Be proud of the woman who makes our favorite music in the entire world P.S. trolling = fail

  9. What are you listening to right now?

Sea of Love - Cat Power I love the movie Juno.
  10. What are you listening to right now?

Peach Plum Pear (Live Acoustic) - Joanna Newsom i had no idea she had to have surgery... god, that is.. i just respect her so much more now.
  11. What are you listening to right now?

Does Not Suffice - Joanna Newsom I find it so beautiful that at the end of this song she has a slight reprise of In California. ALSO! During In California, she talks about how the little clock is on the edge of the hour, and that it is only ever chiming out cuck-oo. well, when she goes on that long rant of cuck-oos, her album time is at EXACTLY 1 hour. It's so freaking awesome. Joanna never ceases to surprise me.

The trick is feeling like a rebel when you take a ride in a revolving door
  13. What are you listening to right now?

Baby Birch - Joanna Newsom This song just gives me a feeling. That I really don't even know how to explain. That's the beauty of Joanna's music.

That's kinda like me playing neopets sometimes. I mean, why waste your time with other games, when you get actual fake points for playing their games. Throw some reg on, mute the Internet, and play away hahaha.
