  1. Chag Chanuka Sameach, Regina!!

I'm surprised no one has posted this yet, haha! Say Happy Hanukkah to Regi [and me and others on the forum ] , you guys. So, to share some background cause it's fun, the last night, me, my mom and my dad go up to New York City and meet my sister who comes down from Boston. Then we go to my dyedu Borys and my bubbi Linka's house [and the rest of our extended family] and eat a lot of food that they insisted we not help them make. We sit around for hours and everybody talks to fast for me to understand and then we go ice-skating in the park. Yeah And while we are on this topic, what will you all being doing this holiday season? or is it too early to be thinking about that? [p.s. 100th post, WOO!!!]
  2. may i just say, i love soup

I just had some oral surgery done, and haven't really been able to chew food so I've been eating a lot of soup lately. My first dinner after the surgery was won ton soup from China Star [so delicioussssssssssss], the next night mama made some comforting borscht, then I had Italian wedding soup for lunch, and chicken w/ wild rice for dinner. Today I had ramen and tonight I have a can of minestrone from Progresso. I normally not one for canned soups [normally they're nasty] but Progresso isn't bad. Alright. Done
  3. Eddie Izzard in the Midwest.

That's amazing, Perks!! You're so lucky. I'm glad he didn't turn out to be an asshole! lol
  4. Tearjerkers

Even though No One is the saddest song for me, On the radio has been getting to me lately because it makes me think of my friend. Sometimes I can't even finish it listening to it, even though I love it. I end up playing it one the piano and singing it myself lol ! Somedays used to get me all teared up when I first bought SK, too. 'I must be emo' p.s. Sorry for the terrible pop-culture(=what?) reference. That was gay hehe
  5. Not particularly...anything...

Cool! But there's a poetry thread somewhere around, already
  6. anticipated albums for 2008

Regina's, of course, if her health allows her, and Upravleniye Otbrosami by t.A.T.u. I'm sooooooooo excited!!! Finally, after three years! My signature is their second single, by the way... 220 [dvesti dvadtsat'], and their first one was Beliy Plaschik. If you're interested in checking out the real tatu, not the fake lesbians, that is lol! Way cool
  7. language nerds !!!!

In Hebrew it's raham for when you "love" your brother, and hesed for when you're "in love" with someone. But I think that love in French is actually spelled "amour." I could be wrong, though. PerksOfAWallflower will know, lol! I need to start posting a little more, again...
  8. Is Regina Pregnant?

This observation is GAY. A woman is full figured and suddenly she looks pregnant? Give me a fucking break.
  9. anticipated albums for 2008

Ms. Regina, yes yes, and t.A.T.u. [upravleniye Otbrosami third album this April! Woot!!] hahaha *PilingAndTwisting, your music is way cool
  10. All I want for Christmas is for Loveology to be recorded.... or Happy Hooker [a little old, yeah I know] Opposite ends of the spectrum
  11. Six Thoughts...

    1. WHERE 2. THE 3. FUCK 4. HAVE 5. I 6. BEEN Hi again, biznatches hehe So busy with all kinds of craziness... I've been reading random posts, but too goddamn busy to respond to anything, huh... I missed you silly peoples!!! GWAAAAAHHH!!! AAAAAAHHHHH!!! [this "preparing for college" shindig sucks major ass-o]
  12. Alright; I don't have a hard copy of Songs, okay? I bought it on iTunes because I am impatient and I didn't want to order [which I had to do because I remember I couldn't freaking find it ANYWHERE] but, after me and my fam went up to NY during holiday break to see our lovely extended family, I received quite the sum of Hanukkah money [normally we go up on the first night and stay their the entire holiday, but we had school during Hanukkah this year and God forbid I miss school] but yeah. So, I ordered Songs from CD Baby the other day, and I got this "your package was sent" e-mail: 1 REGINA SPEKTOR: songs $14.00 $14.00 Sub Total $14.00 Shipping $5.00 Grand Total $19.00 Your CD has been gently taken from our CD Baby shelves with sterilized contamination-free gloves and placed onto a satin pillow. A team of 50 employees inspected your CD and polished it to make sure it was in the best possible condition before mailing. Our packing specialist from Japan lit a candle and a hush fell over the crowd as he put your CD into the finest gold-lined box that money can buy. We all had a wonderful celebration afterwards and the whole party marched down the street to the post office where the entire town of Portland waved "Bon Voyage!" to your package, on its way to you, in our private CD Baby jet on this day, Wednesday, January 2nd. I hope you had a wonderful time shopping at CD Baby. We sure did. Your picture is on our wall as "Customer of the Year." We're all exhausted but can't wait for you to come back to CDBABY.COM!! Thank you, thank you, thank you! Sigh... -- Derek Sivers, president, CD Baby the little store with the best new independent music I dunno if this is the letter that they send everyone, it probably is, but I just wanted to share a laugh with you all
  13. That's why I love small businesses; it's personal. I should write them back too and say, "Ah, that was so saaaweeet!" see what they would say to me
  14. Your guilty pleasures (musicwise)

I have been a t.A.T.u. lover since 2002, and anyone who has a problem with that can kiss my ass! They just don't understand them! That whole lesbian thing? So 2001. lol I ordered the re-edition of their first album 200km/h Po Vstrechnoy and it just cam in the mail today! I have all their music both in both languages, but I only purchase the albums in Russian because it's worth it- they sound awkward singing in English and there's no poetry in the English lyrics. Okay, done now
  15. new year, new life

Oh, babies! Congratulations to your aunt p.s. I second what kaysntees said; you gotta expose the little one to Regina early- they'll be the coolest kindergartener ever

  17. Your Regina Collection!

Damn you, Peter Pan. DAAAAAMN YOOOOOOOOU! A hard copy of 11:11? Hard copy of Songs? You sucks muchos huevos. I can't afford shit, haha! I only have hard copies of Soviet Kitsch & BTH and then 11:11&Songs from iTunes. And I don't know how to put pictures up so I can't show them in a creative form!!! *cries*
  18. New music we should all hear

SARA BAREILLES!!! awesome. I recently, really recently maybe two days ago, fell in love with her. Her debut album "Little Voice" is crazy good. You all probably heard "Love Song..." I heard it on some kind of music program commercial. She's a piano player and has long brown hair and a really French nose hehe XD. She reminds me of Regina; not sound-wise but because she has four albums; the first two she released herself, the third a more obscure but still a big label, and the fourth a really major label: the kind everyone has heard of. Major label is "Little Voice" and lesser known is "Careful Confessions" which on that album you HAVE to listen to "Fairytale"- very tongue-in-cheek. Hell yeah, biznitch
  19. Happy New Year 2008

S Novym Godom, fellow Respekters!!! It's been New Year here for 38 minutes, lol, I didn't post earlier because my buds and I were busy gettin' crunk [yeah, right ] So, I hope it was a safe one for all of you and may the new year hold great happiness and fortune for you Kisses & many hugs, Sofia <3
  20. Ms Indie Rock 2007

I don't see my name anywhere on that list. edit: as for the anti-semitic comments, if it's any constellation, Regina is very Jew-y looking
  21. Vladimir Putin: Person of the Year????

Dude, seriously seeing him as person of the year... I thought I was gonna vomit. And then Time saying that he brought economic stability to Russia? What the fuck, man, gross. I wonder what Regina thought about this issue...?
  22. Okay, here's my problem: the one boy's name is... Dave... and he's into video games and anime and he's slightly annoying. The other boy's name is... Bobby... and he likes video games and anime and is also slightly annoying in the same way [same way=I hate video games and anime & have nothing to really talk about w/ them]. The difference is, Bobby is such a cutie! and Dave is not. I've known them about the same amount of time, both relatively new pending friendships, but I feel much more comfortable talking to Bobby than to Dave. And I think it's because Bobby is attractive and, Dave is not. Am I a bitch, or does physical appearance affect your relationship with a new friend??
  23. Regina and her piano talents.

I also loved the chorus in Buildings; it's really driving and 20 yrs of snow is AMAZING. The only part I'm having trouble playing is the 'feel the waltz' part because the rhythm is different from the rest of the song. Oh, and Apres Moi males me want to spin around an scream, and Sailor Song makes me feel sea sick, and the melody in Ode to Divorce made me cry the first time I heard it. Yeah... hehe
  24. Does physical appearence effect a new friendship?
