  1. St. Louis show

St. Louis show was indeed lovely. I had also wondered who was annoying her, couldnt really see with the packed-ness. She was pretty funny complaining about the shitty sound setup they have .
  2. Story!

..and the leaf, who was unhappy with his life of community on the tree, took the leap. As he fell, he shouted "How can community really be free anyways?!" and landed softly on the ground. The tortoise, who had just had an arguement with his wife about the weather, was intrigued and investigated. A glorious friendship ensued, and the leaf wondered how this lifestyle went unnoticed, as he lived within the turtle tribe.
  3. I had a dream about regina....

Were you bychance listening to music whilst sleeping? http://reginaspektor.infopop.cc/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/933108598/m/9271026791 Crazy dreams, although I believe Paul Mccartney said that he dreamed up the song 'blackbird' or maybe it was another. I can never remember my own head's music when I wake up . Either way, good thing you wrote it down! Can you remember the melody?

  6. What did she mean!?

quote: so regina laughs a lot after and then she tells me "that's a propaganda-free picture" quote: Originally posted by genkaar: the "propaganda" is that she "is" taller then she really is, and with her on her tiptoes and you bending down, the truth is exposed to eeeeeeveeeeeeryyyone. That is too cute..
  7. 11:11 anyone?

Bitching is refreshing on the ear no? I like the flavor: "What happened to (artist)?!?! Theyre so commercial now and crappy, no longer true to their purpose and sold out!" Thats right, Im bitching about all the people bitching, bitch. Sellout, hate the word. If you think the artist has strayed from their initial purpose in art, maybe you never knew it in the first place.

Yes but the idea of harmony is to make the melody that much greater than it would be alone, or to draw out all of the great points of the melody and make them shine brighter. Like how a violin melody alone is good, but with the orchestra playing off that with equal greatness it can take the breath away. Much like how a chilling piano can perfectly compliment a young womans voice. Melody:1 Harmony:2
  9. Story!

Now whats with the lack of stories in the stories forum, tisk tisk.. Heres one.. There was a man with a burning branch in a field staring off at a towering city. He knew there was something in there for him, that he was wasting his time out in the country, but he couldnt imagine how to ever get into the city. He came across a woman who lent him a hand, and realized that the only way to get anything done in life was with the help of people.

    Thank you much!

Bowing heh, thats something I'll probably never have to live with, so its funny to imagine and feel a little bit sorry . Orchestra chairs are interesting though, everyone following the first chairs bowing rather than what they think makes the best sound. First chair winds all you do is play wonderfully, kinda like "You all should be playing this way" but I guess thats the same reason for the bowing. Doubtfull thats its for the visual aesthetics. Now as far as violin vs cello, I had heard many many pieces with both, live, recording, chamber, concert and I have to say that the cello sound has touched me , enough to get one and learn privately.
  13. 11:11 anyone?

Best way seems to be from itunes or try to find a used copy somewhere, good luck with that. It seems she first released it independently on the site cdbaby.com, of which you can still get a hold of "Songs" on cd. So if youre like me and enjoy buying music that you can stick in your mouth, make sure to grab "songs" before it goes out of print as well. Keep in mind that that, many many many many indie artists will re-release stuff that goes out of print when they start getting a bit of recognition. Sometimes albums that are totally out of print, or albums that are vinyl only will be put out again via CD. Alot depends on contracting bullshit with the labels and such, but once an artist gets to the point they have many fans who will mindlessly imbibe any music put out for them it becomes a good business proposition for the label. So buy it online, steal it from her, or wait it out.
  14. Im really upset

Hehe old but funny post. No one pointed it out so Ill indluge it, reguardless that its pretty obvious as seen by the subtle and not so subtle humor . The music is in the albums.
  15. Paris

Not even sure if this is a spektor song but I'll ask anyways. Anyone seen or heard a recording of a song called "Paris" by madam spektor or whoever? I saw some lyrics for this posted with some of hers and it looks lovely.
