Nice to see you back... Nice to be back. And thanks, I do try Of course, "back" is a bad term. I'm going on holiday tomorrow for two weeks haha. But August is all free, so I'll spam then.

And actually the monster in your closet has been here a long time. And there are people like stwongbad and Bartender, but seeing as I haven't exactly been active recently I dunno how often they all post.

Muwhahaha my friend has organised a murder mystery night tonight. I'm "Count de la Rochefour", a french nobleman with a reputation as somewhat of a ladykiller. I hope I'm the murderer because it would be a lot more fun that way haha. And yes, where is Rawhide/why did he rename this thread?
  6. Good News Thread!

I got a job interview! It's in a supermarket, and I worked in one last year so fingers crossed I stand a chance. I really badly need a job like. I have pretty much no money and am supposedly going on holiday with a few friends to Athens in September. If I don't get some moola coming in that's not happening.
  7. Le Bataclan, Paris, France on July 1, 2009

Wooo! I finally got to see Regina! She was sooooo good (as you can see from the videos) and Nat can testify to my excitement. I've never actually shouted anything out before at a gig. I asked my friend first if it would be alright haha and then it took about five songs to work up the courage to actually do it. I'm wondering if the french guy Nat and I were talking to afterwards managed to meet Reg? We both waited for quite a while but she had gone somewhere (the venue turned off the lights and closed all doors, but Regina hadn't come out, so she must have left) so we both left, but this guy stayed behind. He mentioned the stix, so figured I'd put this here..
  8. Six Thoughts...

    1. PARIS! 2. REGINA... IN PARIS! 3. I'll believe it all.. There's nothing I won't understand. 4. Bum bum bum bum bum 5. Wimbledon = fun 6. PARIS!
  9. Abstinence.. No, not like that

Hullo! I've been good. Enjoying my well-earned freedom And getting excited about seeing Reg in PARIS! I fly over today- it's gonna be amazing.
  10. "Far" Regina's Next Album :D

Thought I might as well give my 2.99 cents about the new album. Re: the videos I thought it was very cool when all these new videos were suddenly appearing. Certainly made revising pass more quickly with new songs in my head. I really liked Eet and Dance Anthem, but I have to say I'm not really a fan of Laughing With or Man of a Thousand Faces. The videos I mean. Laughing With looked cool, but I thought the whole thing just kept moving too fast, introducing cool effects and then suddenly moving on to something else. I don't like the video of MoaTF because you don't really see Reg herself very much. But yeah, I felt like I had to explain my reason for not liking those two, but you all can probably figure out why I liked Eet and Dance Anthem Re: the new songs I immediately really liked The Calculation, Eet and Two Birds, Eet probably being my favourite. I was unsure about The Machine, but after a few listens I started to understand why people liked it, so yeah- thumbs up to Reg for her songwriting Re: the old songs I know some other people were in the same boat about this, but I for one was worried about how some of the songs would sound after production. I thought that the extra sounds really worked for some, like Folding Chair or Human of the Year, but not so well for others. My main problem was with One More Time With Feeling, because I always saw it as a kind of sad or heavy song, and the new beat made it sound too happy and light. I'm looking forward to hearing how they all sound next week (in PARIS! AAAAH!), as I imagine it'll change my views slightly. But for now, Far is definitely a good album. Been listening to it over and over and over again since Monday
  11. Le Bataclan, Paris, France on July 1, 2009

Seeing as I'm head off on Monday, I thought I should prolly put it on the stix that I'm going to be there! As is Nat! Actually so excited

Emantha.. I'm delighted Enjoy yourself Karl! I may as well use this opportunity to say that I'm back. I dunno how often I'll be posting; I'm trying to get myself a job but it's not looking good at the minute. To all stixers that I know: sorry for being lame and not posting. The intention is to change that. To all stixers who have joined in the past year that I haven't had the pleasure of meeting: hi! My name's Michael, I'm 19 and live in Nothern Ireland. Hope you've been enjoying this place.
  13. WE HAVE SOME BRUMSTIX BIRTHDAYS TODAY!!!!!!

Thanks very much you guys! I had a really nice day.
  14. Wee Rants

I'm back in Cambridge. And it's really nice and everything, and everyone's very cool, but this term is exam term... Meaning no social life and no brumstix... See you in June...
  15. "Far" Regina's Next Album :D

YESSS!!! This is brilliant. I was worried about when in June it would come out, because my exams are early in June, and afterwards I'll be partying quite a bit, and I didn't want to have to fail my exams/be antisocial in order to listen to the album all day (as I know I would) Also wooooooooooooooooooo! Cheers Bartender!
