  1. Amanda Palmer Solo Show Cover

    that sounds disgusting
  2. what does mincth mean?

she's probably just playing around like she does in all her songs. dont look too into it.
  3. I just introduced a Regina to a whole bunch of people...

I wonder if they have a little CD tower of the disks that get sent to them on accident. I wonder who takes them home at the end of the day? I wonder what their favorite is? I wonder if anyone has ever regreted sending them a CD by mistake so much they have driven over there and picked it back up (supposing they live close by).
  4. Regina on Leno

Just because you love something doesn't mean you can't criticize it.
  5. So, I guess people can't tape shows anymore. :(

I was afraid she would have a freaking band. That's not why I fell in love with this music. I want just her and a piano like in all the clips and whatnot I've seen. I'm really afraid this concert I'm going to in November will suck. It's my first one and I've been waiting 2-and-a-half years for her to come to Atlanta. What can you do, though, right?
  6. Regina Interviews

You guys are so much better at this than I am. I love reading interviews with Regina because you always learn something new that changes the way you see her music. Like learning "Better" and "Lady" are the oldest songs on Begin to Hope. I can't find any interviews, though, and so I ask you to give me (and the other internet retards) some links! Danke!

  8. New CDs

i just bought a ben folds CD. i have no idea what it is called but i rather like it. i think its funny that he really cant sing at all but he gets away with it because his songs are cool. i like Anna Nalick, i think she only has 1 CD out called Paper Bag.
  9. Regina Spektor - Really inspiring music!

Us was the first song I heard on a little clip they did about her on MTV in 2003. did anyone see it? they went to Central Park and she dug up a dollar she had burried like 2 years ago? they played us and i kind of sang it in my head for like a week. like Louisville, I had given up on music, and didnt care about it. then i kind of went crazy. i searched high and low for this girl, realizing i didnt know her name. i liked the strokes at the time, and remembered MTV saying she had beed discovered by their manager and played for them. so i searched the internet for a very long time, finally looking under "The Strokes, Moscow" which were the only two nuggets of information i knew about her. two days later I had an 18 track burnt album with pieces from all 3 previous albums sans BtH. Two years later I've got 60 tracks, 4 CD's, and about 15 songs worth of sheet music stored in the ol' brain. she brought me back into this world (not the world of music, i mean the world in general.) i hate that i owe such a huge amount of happiness to MTV.
  10. Spreading Regina

i really just cannot help but feel that i want it all to stop. regina was my thing two years ago. nobody i knew had ever heard of her, and everyone i had in the car while playing it either hated it and made me turn it off (someone said she sounds like cat steven's wife, which was completely obscure!) or loved it and asked for the CD, which I happily gave to them. It was a mix i downloaded illegally and made myself of everything i could find. the CD was perfect, each song going beautifully into the next despite its random assembly. i call it Regina Spektor Starter Kit. Since then I now have 4 mixed CDs of hers, and then Begin to Hope. It's so nice when you have something that is your own, that you are the expert on in your little area of America or wherever, and that you can keep from the world. But then BUM BUM BUM! i heard her at starbucks and almost threw up. then somoene called to tell me they heard her at a movie theater. then suddely all my little sister's little 14 year old friends start liking her because i gave her the CD. then i leave the country to move to europe, and lo and behold shes on freaking VH1? granted i did hear about her to begin with on MTV in 2003, but it breaks my very regina devoted heart to think of her being "main stream" which i fear she is destined for. im lucky that there are so many people with horrible taste that say regina sucks, because that will keep her off the radio, but i say regina belongs in small venues with 100 people who are devoted to her than 500 people that kind of like her. she just seems like that kind of artist to me.
  11. Regina Story

    just like the movies
  12. Chips..

wait, so did it really happen and its just a coincidence? i recognized it too, but thought it was from an old movie from the 60s I watched once. im crazy, though, so dont mind me. i didnt find a lucky penny
  13. Singing along at shows pro/con

I really really agree with the checking idea! Try it out on the first song, ask people around you if it's too loud, and then either keep going or not. It takes all the self control I have not to sing along to every song anytime I hear it because I love to sing them, but that's just me. I was really afraid of singing along aswell (Atlanta, Nov. 17) and I hope people are respectful of eachother. You are in a social setting, and therefore you must think of others. You must.
  14. Atlanta Concert 17NOV06

Just like Peaces of a Flower Child this is my first Regina Concert, too! But Little Princess I think I got you beat. I'm flying home from Germany for it. Does anyone know if she is doing a signing afterwards? The only people I have ever wanted to meet were Regina and David Sedaris and I met him last year! I think hanging out would be a cool idea. But I'm afraid the concert will be different from the little intimite ones I've seen on video. I'm afraid she'll have like a whole damn band with her. I love Regina because it's just her and the piano.
  15. Braille?

God I really want to see her while I'm in Europe. I'm thinking about going to Brussels to hear her play. Are her concerts good? She's never come within five states of me.
