  1. Back to the Stix

Hi everyone!!! Sooooo I haven't been on the stix in about a year or so. Not because my love for Regina's music has faded, if anything I'd say I've grown much fonder and more open to her stuff. I'm still just as obsessed (I even search Youtube for the most recently added vids of her pretty much every day or two). Why then? Well, I guess I just felt there was a lot of bickering and such and I didn't feel the stix was the place of love, sharing, and admiration that it used to be when I was a "lurker." I suppose the "downfall" started when the old demo tracks started leaking out... everyone was at eachother's thoats! From there it grew and grew, until I got... bored of it all I guess you could say. Slowly I stopped posting (not that I posted much anyway -- for many year I simply read), then stoped lurking around, and finally I felt no urge to check up on the stix at all. But this is all in the past (I'm hoping)!!! So my question for you guys now is what's up on the stix?! Who are the new "Adreseng" or peeps who quickly make their way up to thousands of posts! Now, over a year and a half later, what does everyone think of Far!?!? My expectations weren't the highest for "Live in London" but it blew me away of course! What's the "scoop" in the stix world. What did I miss? Any big projects or good discussions you've cooked up? Fun rants/stories? Perhaps an oldie but goodie I may have missed? Tell me all! As always, thanks for taking the time to read this and I hope you and yours are all doing well this holiday season!

  3. New music we should all hear

Hey guys... so I haven't posted in months i think. I know, I know, just sticking to my routine. Anyway, I couldn't find any thread for recommending musicals and showtunes! Since I'm pretty sure I won't get many answers, I didn't think there was a need to start a completely new thread. So I thought I'd ask here: What are you favorite musicals and songs from which you'd recommend? Any knew up and coming ones we should all know about?
  4. Wee Rants

How did a go over a year on the stix and not know this?!? Alrighty, well speak up Canton/Ohio-stixters!
  5. Your First Post

Mine was on the lyric chain game thread, in which I quoted Your Honor. But I'm pretty sure I had another account before this one to post a few random things. I was one of those "lurkers" for about a year, so it was easy to slip in so nonchalantly to the stix
  6. Wee Rants

^^Agreed. You can't let the stupid people get to you though... as hard as it may be sometimes. Anyway, on to my rant. My dad is moving to Canton, Ohio because he got offered a good job there. So, I'm all for him making a larger salary but... What the hell is there to do in Canton freakin Ohio?!?!?!?!?!? I still have a year before going off to college, so I have to put up with this. Luckily I'm staying with my mom, but I'll still be visiting quite often. Now I haven't moved a lot in my life, so I'm pretty comforable being an east coast-er. If anyone here lives near Canton.. what the hell is there? *wee rant done*
  7. If anyone needs sheet music...

I've been planning to learn that solo for ages, but I just never sat down and took the time. I would appreciate your help! The Noise is on regispek in some strange file that I can't open or convert... help anyone? Oh. and last: what program should I use if I want to transcribe something myself for you guys? edit: thanks for the help on PoF mrimarokr I'll try to understand what you're talking about ok. very last. Lady is also on regispek, but in na MTD-file? I've tried using Primo PDF, but it just tells me it failed, code: -21. I use Finale NotePad 08... but thats for my own simple songs and such, otherwise go to the more advanced stuff
  8. school = :(

So-- that lyric from "School is Out" where she talks about staying after due to uncomprehension of high school physics... basically defines my life right now. Or at least this semester. If anyone has any tips for surviving such a sucky, godforsaken class... please let me know.
  9. Most Played?

On Far... Two Birds (I'm a sucker Overall, Where Is My Mind, by Pixes is my top played... I won't bore you with the rest because it's mainly consists of reg songs, oldies like the beatles, the clash, queen, crappy 80's/90's alt. bands, etc. etc.
  10. Brumstix (friendly) Competition!

Sweet.. I obviously haven't been on the stix in a while seeing as how I had no idea about this contest. I always record myself playing reg songs.. but rarely upload (and if I do I take it down in shame lol). Should be a fun contest for lurkers and members alike!
  11. If anyone needs sheet music...

Oh and THANKS SOO MUCH E.J.

  13. If anyone needs sheet music...

Hey guys!!! I haven't been on in at leat a month (being the bad stix member that I am)! Anyway, I have a rough idea of the chords and such for these, but it would be awesome to get some sheets for: Small Town Moon The Noise Two Birds Aquarius Daniel Cowman (the good part haha)
  14. Regina on SNL!! - Oct 10 2009

Apparently when the comedy gets better, so doest the musically talent!!! Both portions of the show have kinda sucked since the early/mid 2000's... until recently. Oh and you never know, sometimes the musical guests at least help the host(s) close the show?!?!
  15. Never Forget

Though I didn't know anyone who died that day, it effected me deeply. 9/11 completely changed many aspects of our daily life here in the US, especially in the North East, and further more NYC. I lived only about 2 1/2 hours away at the time, so my mom freaked out (obviously), took me and my siblings out of school. She wanted to make sure we knew what was going on, she said it was important to understand the situation so we could understand how it effects us. Being only 9 at the time, I was pretty traumatized with what I saw on the news, and what I had heard. I'm sure many of you guys can relate, seeing as how many of you were young at the time. I think it made our generation mature quicker than others. This might also be why so many young people are so politically active as well. Just a quick summary of my experience, so I hope someone, somewhere can relate.
