  1. Sexuality

Well today I found out that my mothers is of the opinion that there is 'something wrong' with homosexual people... Her statement was acctually directed at us, her three children, when after reading an article in the newspaper about an adoptive couple who refused to teach their child about homosexuality, she said "well I never taught my kids about it and there's nothing wrong with them. And if I was going to teach them I'd have taught them what the Bible says, that it's wrong." And for a second in time I acctually hated my mother and wanted to hit her so much. I challenged her and said "what do you mean there's nothing wrong with us?" She completely didn't understand the angle I was coming from and just ignored my question. I am still in shock, and acctually rather upset that my own mother could make such a sweeping statement about a subject she has absolutly no experiance in. I think this struck such a cord with me becasue sexuality is something I've been wresteling with for years and for someone so close to me to put these issues into such a black and white context really hurt... You guys have known me for a little while and so I thought it was about time I posted about this issue because it such a huge topic in my life right now. I hope not to cause offence but to merely rant about something that has really got me to the point where I cannot think about anything eles.
  2. John Cusack is a Regina Fan!

First song on his iTunes celebrity playlist is Ghost of Corporate Future... "In my humble opinion, Regina should be played on loud speakers everywhere in a major city..." Anyone know of any more famous Ragina fans. I know Drew Barrymore had Fidelity in her cleb playlist too.

We didn't get to see it sadly, it was sold out. So we went home and watched 'Frida' instead. A brilliant film and my 8th movies of the year.
  5. Let's go to the Movies...

I got 'Castle in the Sky' for Christmas. Miyazaki is wonderful.
  6. Let's go to the Movies...

I am going to go ahead and shamelessly spam the 'stix with my new blog. http://justlikethemoviesieat.wordpress.com/ I just started a blog that is going to document every film I see this year (2011). I should clarify that only movies I see for the first time will count, new and old. It's fun, I hope you'll all come and have a nosy. ps. I'm going to see 'The King's Speech' on Saturday, and I'm very excited. pps. the sites name is somewhat Regina related, so my spam not so shameless after all.
  7. Xbox live?

quote: Originally posted by .: Yeah, that was me. Oblivion! I WANT New Vegas so bad, mostly because of Felicia Day's involvement. But, i think I want Fallout 3 more. Have you gotten into Dragon Age yet? Sadly, I didn't buy Dragon Age yet. I'm going to get Assassin's Creed Brotherhood and New Vegas out of the way and then get it. I don't get much gaming time either so it might be a while. Are you enjoying it?
  8. Let's go to the Movies...

Watching Black Swan for the 2nd time right now. It's wonderful.
  9. Xbox live?

Its a delight to see this thread back in action. I saw someone post about getting Oblivion (two years too late). I thought I would ask an obvious question... Anyone play Fallout 3 and New Vegas? I just got New Vegas for Xmas, but I haven't started it.

Did she come twice? I don't really know what the sweet lady has been upto, I thought I heard she was in the UK again this year. I think I will pre-order. How's things G?

Can someone clarify when this DVD was shot? Was it a London show from this year? Very exciting news - pretty sure this live in London show is the one I went to last December.

http://amandads.tumblr.com/ I've been on there a while, but didn't use it much. Not I'm obsessed.
  18. The She&Him Appreciation Thread

    I'm in love with Zooey..
  19. Recommend a book here...

'Oranges are not the only fruit' - Great book.
  20. Gaga and Spektor

Gaga is scary. Didn't they say something like 'her album is now considered more of an artistic movement' at the Brits.. I remember laughing when I heard it and then I felt bad for Madonna, she must be shitting herself. This is in no way a negative comment, nothing pleases me more than dancing to Bad Romance with my three year old cousin.
  21. Kate Nash

Kate is cool, I heard her new track on Radio 1 last week. Very catchy.
  22. What are you listening to right now?

I know the movie The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, but are the books any good? omg! i didn't even know there was a movie to it! must watch it now! the books are reallllly good. i just finsihed reading the 3rd a few days ago (coincidence?). The first is amazing and really gets you into the characters plus the heroine of the book is just the best heroine ever and really cool. The second is aiight still a very nice read and the 3rd is reallly and really awesome at towards the second half. Whats's best of the books is the author's style of writing which really gets you into the characters, i don't know you just get really into it plus the fact that you never know what will happen next. Really awesome muder/mystery novels hope that helped i'm crap with describing things anyway! Yeah the movies look really cool, I think they made all three into movies but they haven't been subbed for english or something, I dunno. Anyway, here: I think I will read these books after I finish H.Potter. They look goooood! Hey Dom, I just started The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo... It seems to start really slow. Tell me it's going to get better please? yes it will, the start for me was very slow too, but near the end of the middle of the book and the end is when it really starts to get interesting.. My faith in you is 100% restored Dom. What a brilliant book. I bought the next one this weekend. I can't wait to see what the hell Salander is gonna do next.
  24. What are you listening to right now?

    Monster - Lady GaGa
