  3. St. Louis, MO - 11/12

It was amazing. AMAZING. This was my first time seeing her live, and now I realize how flat her voice is on CD compared to live. but i can't help thinking how bored she must be getting, performing virtually the same set list in the same order so many times. anyone feel similarly?
  4. St. Louis, MO - 11/12

I didn't mean that she seemed to be in a bad mood or particularly bored at the show, on the contrary, she was quite lively and animated. i just feel that, whether she's showing it or not, she's probably getting bored of playing the same 15-ish songs every 2 days, or in some cases every day. I wish she was free to choose any of her over 100 songs to play every night.

  13. regina's negative capability

You know, I find that statement incredibly cute and funny...because I'm a hardcore astrology fanatic and Tori (Leo) and Regina (Aquarius) are opposites on the wheel in the zodiac! Which, in astrology means their basic natures are polar opposites! Ain't that the truth! But I love them both...god do I love them both. I'm a leo. hopefully regina and i aren't polar opposites!
  14. How to play "The Consequence of Sounds"

is that you in the video? musiclover? if so, you attractivee
  15. Height?

additionally, i briefly stood next to her, and im 5'0. she didn't look 4 inches taller than me.
  16. OMG! A COMMERCIAL WITH A REGINA SONG OTHER THAN FIDELITY/BETTER/ON THE RADIO!!
  17. Height?

she said in an interview she was 5'4, but everyone who sees her always says how small she is, so i think she's probably shorter. 5'4 is perfectly average.
  18. Interview with College Times

She is so right. honestly, i don't really hear any similarities between her and tori amos. and comparing jimi hendrix to kurt cobain is just laughable.
  19. New album / material

If regina doesn't have a lot of artistic control and doesn't have the final say, why would she say she did? Would she really lie to her fans like that? I'm not trying to defend major record labels in any way, i despise them with the pit of my soul
  20. New album / material

Well it's only been a year and about 4 months since BTH was released.. not very long. you cant rush perfection
  21. New blog from regina!

quote: Originally posted by MusicLover_2007: This will be my last entry in this thread. I don't want to discuss GW or celebrity talk ettiquitte. I want to more address the background behind my original rant. The story starts in July 2004 when I went to see Sarah McLachlan live in Seattle. Everything was great until suddenly in the middle of the concert she stops and goes on an anti-Bush rant. Most of the audience went wild. Safe to say, I was a bit stunned and disappointed, not to mention feeling a little oppressed in an environment that suddenly felt like I was at the wrong political rally. I guess that sort of shattered my previous view of her which was based on the songs. I learned that just because a person can be a great musician/songwriter/singer doesn't mean that they know what they're talking about in politics. That led me to further contemplation and research on the issue of intelligence specialization. Basically it seems that people can be absolutely brilliant in one area and absolutely mediocre or awful in another. Getting more specifically to songwriters, it was deeply interesting to me how Sarah could have such great insight into people but when she opened her mouth about politics it was as though a stupid person was talking. It's a very profound effect actually. I managed to recover from that and continue listening to her songs, but not with the same passion. I should mention that I own most of her catalogue. Now with all this background, and the infamous "president f***ing Bush" blurt from Regina the Myspace entry was sort of the last straw for me. Things basically boiled over emotionally, and my heart was on my sleeve right then. I hope now that I expressed myself more fully after that early period of the thread, that people here understand where I'm coming from on this. I do NOT demand anything of a singer who's songs I enjoy accept 1 thing - if he/she is going to say some political thing publicly, please realize that even if only 10% of their fans are of the opposite persuasion, show some respect. I know that's too much and borderline fascistic for some of you here(I won't name), but that's what I believe and I can't compromise my beliefs just to be popular. Over and out. I guess i understand where you're coming from, and i overreacted that first time i replied. sorry, it's just something I feel strongly again. I completely respect not compromising your beliefs to be popular. Think of regina doing the same thing. She knows she's probably going to piss some people off for saying what she said, but she refused to compromise her values for popularity.
  22. New blog from regina!

that's exactly what i was thinking!

I hate that this is made into such a political left/right issue. What? You don't want to admit that we are doing things that are harmful to the environment? Are you afraid of losing money? I don't get why it's such a problem to admit that it's real and try doing something about it. How does it harm you if more people decide to ride their bike instead of drive their car somewhere? Or carry a tote bag instead of using up the bags from the store? Or using less paper and recycling? What's wrong with trying to find and use renewable resources? I don't happen to think that the water in the oceans is going to suddenly rise and that'll be the end of the world or whatever. I do think that it is currently affecting the environment in little ways.. messing up the natural patterns of things. And it is causing significant melting in places. Have you seen An Inconvenient Truth? I think it does do a decent job of explaining it.. 1. I will NOT watch any propaganda by Al Gore. 2. There is no solid evidence of Anthropogenic global warming. 3. We don't even have solid temperature data going back long enough to make any definitive statements about the effect of industry on global temperatures. 4. A lot of Scientists having a "consensus" about AGW is not scientific. For a theory to turn into more, it must be testable and repeatable. AGW is not. 5. For something that is just a theory, the real practical consequences of implementing with Al Gore wants is a devastated US economy. China and India(which are MUCH worse polluters BTW) will not agree to Kyoto or any other measures to stem CO2 emissions. 6. Liberals have no intellectual honesty on this because a big answer to reducing CO2 emmissions is building ALOT of new nuclear power plants and STOP burning coal for electricity. But liberals are the biggest opposition to that. Did you know that France(who liberals worship) generates 80% of their electricity via nuclear? Also another factor is NIMBYism. 7. The economy needs to continue growing. For that to happen, we need more electricity generation capacity. Either you burn more coal or start building new nuclear power plants. However if you don't believe that economic growth is an important thing, then I guess we could go back to living like people did in the middle ages in poverty. I could go on for hours, but you get the point. This is NOT a simple issue and the debate is not over, decided and people who dissent from the prevailing view of Al Gore are not the equivalent of Holocaust deniers. wow. ridiculous. liberals are not saying we need to stop using electricity tomorrow. liberals are saying we should use more environmentally friendly sources of electricity and cut down as much as we can. electricity is a modern luxury, not a right, and we can't keep treating the planet like a resource that we're free to exploit and destroy. you honestly think something as fleeting and shallow as a "growing economy" is more important than that?
  24. Meeting her in person...

  25. Meeting her in person...

hey, I thought the brumstix forum was supposed to be known for its tolerance and patience with newcomers. That being said, I totally understand how you feel, clockswerealseep, but you have to look at it from Regina's perspective as well. Like some people said already, she was probably exhausted, and she had to go through a line of tons more fans. I'm sure if she could reexamine the way she treated you and if she knew that you've been a fan for years (ie you're not just any average BTH fan) she would regret it. Everyone makes mistakes!
