  1. Regina in Paris... Ooo joy!!

Hi a friend of mine just got back from the Paris gig. This is what she wrote to me: WOW! BANG! Regina S. was awesome. I have to admit that I had heard little of her stuff, but she was really really great live. She is all shy and soooo charismatic at the same time. It really was a lovely gig. She is funny, pretty, clever and has an incredible voice. Bjork meets Tori Amos. She was by herself on the keyboards. She had put clothespegs on her T-shirt, had this massive taffeta skirt. Someone in the audience gave her flowers at the end of the gig, she was really touched. Highly recommended. I'll listen to her stuff on record as well.
  2. Howdy, I just joined

Hello. I am new here as well and a new fan. I think my fave song off SK is 'Poor Little Rich Boy.' I love the energy and childlike repetitiveness of her singing "you're so young, you're so goddamn young." It makes me laugh and dance around. I also like 'Chemo Limo' very much. It is very rare for me to be moved by a musical artist. I am very selective about what I listen to. Regina is amazing. I haven't felt this way about any female artist before. I was never a Tori Amos, Bjork, nor Alanis fan. I like some of their songs of course. But I never felt inspired by them. I love the way she uses her voice as an instrument. She has so much talent.
  3. my favorite soup of the moment

Hi LoafingOaf. Yeah, I am a good cook. I used to watch the food channel all the time. I got some great tips from there. Also, my parents exposed me to a lot of different foods and cuisines at a young age, so I grew-up appreciating the art of cooking and dining. I first had she-crab soup when living in Florida. It is popular there. I love all types of seafood though. I think I could live off of it. It is refreshing to talk about food here. Another site I post at(ehem) has a lot of vegetarian posters. It is difficult to talk about food without offending them. How about you? Do you cook? It sounds like you like good food as well.

  5. Matzo Balls

I used to work at a huge Jewish Deli in San Francisco. The chefs there made the best matzo ball soup. I got hooked for life. I like when the balls are made with chicken fat rather than vegetable oil. A great chicken stock is key as well.
  6. my favorite soup of the moment

I LOVE soup -- almost any kind too. I guess some of my favorites are clam chowder, seafood gumbo, she-crab, and chicken and dumplings. I love split pea as well LoafingOaf. Great user name, btw. She-Crab Soup Ingredients 2 tablespoons unsalted butter 1 small onion, grated 3 celery stalks, minced 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour Salt and white pepper to taste ¼ teaspoon ground mace ½ teaspoon dried thyme ½ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce ½ teaspoon Tabasco Lemon juice 2 cups heavy cream 2 cups milk 2 cups total white she-crab meat and roe ½ cup sherry Garnish Paprika Chopped fresh parsley Instructions Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat and sauté the onion and celery until soft. Sprinkle the flour over the vegetables, stir, and cook 5 minutes. Add all the spices, Worcestershire sauce, Tabasco, and a splash of lemon juice and simmer briefly. Add the cream and milk and heat almost to scalding, stirring constantly. Add the crabmeat and roe and stir. Heat just long enough to warm through. Add the sherry and serve at once, garnished with paprika and chopped parsley. Yield: 8 servings
  7. New music we should all hear

I love Morrissey. I am a big fan of Keane as well and am glad to learn that she is touring with them this summer.
  8. Regina at Jay Leno's

Hello. I saw Regina on Leno. She is amazing.
