  1. $80 well spent

My mind went a bit blank and i'd love to go back and speak to her more properly but i wasn't sure if she was even up for speaking at any length. Plus it was kind of raining.

I met her and asked her to sign her name on my arm, with the intention of going straight to my tattooist to have him go over it, creating a pretty unique Regina tattoo. She wasn't into it at all and refused to do it. She even asked the question that all of the people I know that are into tattoos hate more than any other..."why would you want to do that to yourself?". I still may work up something to have done...maybe an entire leg composed of imagery from the sings, the album covers and maybe some choice lyrics, perhaps a stylised picture of Regina herself in there somewhere. Seems a little odd though, doing it knowing that she would disapprove. Not that I'd be doing it for her, I get my tattoos for me alone, but still... Was this in Liverpool? Someone there also asked Regina to sign some part of them (think it was the arm), but she refused. She would've signed his shirt though..
  3. Current Regina Taping Policy

quote: not having any clue as to her open policy and shutting people down. Do we have any recent indications that Regina is still "taper friendly" and whether the venues can be informed for this tour. I would like to record the Hammerstein show, but security at the door of that venue is extremely tight. However, if they are aware that If you had any problems at the door, i'm sure you could say that Regina has an open taping policy and that they should seek out one of her entourage to confirm this if they don't believe you. I know Regina's sound guy told me himself that she's perfectly fine with people recording her shows as long as they don't sell them or anything like that. This was 2 years ago, however i shouldn't think her new-found popularity should change this at all. I mean record companies can't own live performances can they?
  4. Liverpool Academy 4th Sept 2007

Unfortunately the recording has little glitches throughout, like random static. I've been having problems recently with my equipment. I'm trying to figure out if there's anyway to isolate the static frequencies and take them out somehow, but no luck so far. Some songs are fine, but it can be quite annoying on others. I haven't forgotten about it anyway. I've got a couple videos that i'll try to upload soon. Will hopefully have the internet in my flat soon so i can do this. Or i might sneak the vids onto the uni computers somehow..! I was hoping to replace the audio in the videos but perhaps not now. I just want them to be as good as i can make them
  5. That was really good!! I was hoping there'd be a clown at the end or something but very well done, the edits made it seem like a real music video.

You'd be best putting all the videos/photos into a zip folder (right click desktop>new>zip folder) and then uploading it at www.megaupload.com , it's very easy to do. Otherwise it might take a long time to upload each individual video in an email and youtube loses a lot of quality. I was stood very close to where you were i think and enjoyed it so much. It really is more fun when you have a good view. I also took a few photos (and an audio recording!) so i'll try and get that up soon but it may take a week as i'm quite busy atm, with moving soon. From your word for word recollection, i'd thought maybe you'd recorded it yourself! I seem to remember after the girl said 'I want your babies!', Regina said 'That's a scary thought!', though. The 'sweaty and confused' comment made me laugh though, it was incredibly hot in there and the girl in front of me didn't help by leaning on the barrier and practically pushing me off the little metal bit on the floor in the first two rows. But yeah, much fun was had, and i finally met her afterwards thanks to a missed train. I've been trying to meet her since 2005 so it was really cool when it happened, she's very nice, i just wish my mind hadn't gone a bit blank. I asked her about Jenny Owen Youngs 'Voice on Tape' but she said it was a secret . As to the set, i especially enjoyed it because i haven't been keeping up with all the latest songs from shows so Blue Lips was new to me (and i have to say an instant classic). She played another i didn't recognise either, it's been a while since i've seen her sing a song i didn't know so it was really cool. The 9 hour trip back was painful as i was so tired but it was completely worth it and i'm so glad i went. Thanks to the Devon girls for keeping me company as well! I found the actual 24h café, it was a fair bit nicer than that kebab place, video game machines and everything! Oh well.

  8. what is with the new sound?!

The only song with the new production on BTH that I really didn't like and still don't is 'Fidelity' because i feel the general upbeatness and choice of instruments betrays the lyrics behind it. I remember when i used to hear this live it would make me cry but it's just lost it's edge for me with the new production. Though it's completely Regina's choice, and you can tell this is probably what it was always like in her head, i just fell in love with the stripped down version. Love 'Better' though, i'm surprised it was a grower for so many people!

To be honest, I have no idea what you are actually referring to here, so I guess my answer is NO, I have not. Are these web sites you mentioned in any way like iTunes, for example? Send me the URLs. I'll check them out. Mark C. (PuzzleMaker) Hey Mark, I was actually going to ask the same thing as Roth. Lossless formats such as FLAC retain all the quality of the original recording but make smaller files than say the original WAVs. MP3s are 'lossy' meaning that when an audio file is encoded to MP3, elements of the sound are removed to make the filesize smaller. So basically, lossless file formats, such as FLAC sound better. When you say you 'converted the show to mp3', what did you convert it from? If it was a WAV or a CD, it is very easy to convert it to FLAC and then upload it somewhere - the tool is here: http://flac.sourceforge.net/download.html If you need any help, just ask Thanks for taking the time to do this, I love this little Regina community!

In the same vein as Master Crimson's thread, i thought i'd put this show up that i recorded last month.. I've joined the first chorus and the second chorus together so it's not so noticable. Regina was with full band although not all the songs were accompanied. The pictures included were taken by Gary, i seem to have lost mine! Hope you enjoy.. Senza.

  14. new glasgow 2007 show

The videos are great Rhiannon, thanks for posting! Human of the Year gave me chills How cool was the Borat shirt she had? I was reading an article the night before the concert about how when he's supposedly speaking Kazakhstani (?) he's actually speaking hebrew and how all of Israel could understand the jokes and loved the character and i had wondered to myself if Regina understood Hebrew and liked the film too, and then she came out in that shirt I love little coincidences like that.
  15. new glasgow 2007 show

Wooooooooooooooooooo! *breathes* woooooooooo! What a crowd, i think Regina was really into it as well and there were a few surprise songs - 'human of the year' was really cool and i wasn't expecting 'your honour'! Share pictures y'all! I'll have a surprise for you come weekend as well.
