  1. As of last night (my friend brought over the DVD), 'Weeds' on Showtime is my favorite TV show . . . so I was pretty stoked to check Pitchforkmedia.com today and find out that in the second season, the theme song is being performed by a different artist every episode. Artists include Jenny Lewis, Death Cab, Elvis Costello, aaaaaaand Regina : ) I'm so excited! article it really is a great show. offbeat, edgy, hilarious. good stuff.

  3. Mockingbird mp3 please

Wow, this song is amazing . . . she was in COLLEGE. Jesus. I know all of 11:11 was recorded when she was in college, but I like Mockingbird better than anything on that record except maybe Pavlov's Daughter and Buildings. Wow. Thank you!
  4. Fiona Apple tour....

I will also be there, as long as I can get tickets . . . do you think they'll sell out? I doubt it, but you never know . . . I already saw Regina this year (not that I wouldn't see her again in half a heartbeat) but Fiona as well . . . it must be my lucky year. That's it.
  5. DOWNLOAD Regina 2006-04-09 Boston, MA

Haha, the show I'm kicking myself for missing (it sold out) . . . i'll probably be kicking myself even harder after I hear it. Thanks!
  6. "Better" music video

I really like the video! It seems like you guys are never happy . . . first her new album is overproduced, then her new video is underproduced . . . sheesh. I must admit, I wasn't so keen on the new stuff when I first heard it. I was actually pretty mad. But then I thought "you know what . . . I've got live versions . . . I've got demo versions . . . now I've got studio versions! And they're all pretty different and just because I like some of them more than others doesn't mean Regina is going in a terrible direction. She still wrote the songs, and she's still singing (actually, the first thing I would change about the new album is how it seems like she's holding back on the vocals . . . FREE REGINA'S VOICE)" so now, I am pretty happy with it. And I've only heard four songs (Fidelity, Better, Summer in the City, and Apres Moi) so it can only get better. And anyway . . . it's Regina's album, yo. We're pretty lucky she's sharing it with us at all. She could be peddling butterflies in New York instead. But this thread is about the video. So! I like the video a lot! Especially the beginning, when she's dancing and conducting (it reminds me of Almost Crimes, my favorite music video ever) and the part when she puts her hand on the screen, and the part where she does a weird thing with her eyebrow. She's just fun to watch, especially when she's singing . . . she's always feeling it. The video for 'Us' was amazing, but it didn't help me understand the song any better . . . this video did.
  7. 2006-04-21 Wellesley, MA | New Tour Date

. . . so that was pretty much amazing! There had to have been less than fifty people there . . . everyone was crowded around the stage (some people were nearly ON the stage, including one very excited 'squeaky' girl Regina kept laughing at), the sound was great, Mittens (opening band, pop-rock from Boston)were fun but everyone was there for Regina, I felt sort of bad. Regina was incredible. I'd never seen her live before. I went with my sister and we both were in awe . . . you can hear the emotion in her voice when she's singing on record, but you can't really see it unless you're there, it's like she's feeling every second of the music, and she's completely hilarious. I don't have an exact setlist, but it was something along the lines of Ain't No Cover Carbon Monoxide Ezra Pound (I know those three were in that order) Prisoners Sailor Song (we all sang "MARY ANNE'S A BITCH") Better 20 Years of Snow Baby Jesus Poor Little Rich Boy (that drumsticking is intense) Fidelity (we got to sing to this too) Bobbing for Apples That Time Apres Moi Ghost of Corporate Future (I was SO HAPPY) On the Radio (again . . . so happy) Ode to Divorce Samson (someone was really excited) Summer in the City Uh-Merica (quite fun) Consequence of Sounds (unexpected encore) It seemed like since it was such a random little show, a lot of the people there were big fans . . . she was looking at everyone and smiling and got cheers after every song and a bunch of comments ("MARRY ME REGINA!" etc.) overall a great night . . . some people say they decided not to come . . . I feel bad for them.
  8. US/Canada tour merch

Ahaha, yes, I misread that show date . . . thanks Mr. Crimson, and thanks for all the info on the Wellesley show : )
  9. US/Canada tour merch

Hey you lucky people who have seen her in American so far . . . has there been a merch booth? What sort of stuff has been there? Pictures/prices/stories/poems/amusing random thoughts? Thanks! p.s. I'm planning on seeing her at Wellesley College . . . do you think it'll be different from a regular show just because it's at a college? Did anyone go to the NYU show a couple years back?

Thanks for all the updates Mr. Crimson . . . I'd really like to go to this show, as I can't make it tomorrow and I've never gotten to see Regina live. Hopefully they'll let the general public in.
  12. Recommendation

. . . wait . . . is that Regina at the beginning of Words on Tape? It has to be. That's awesome. Thanks marcb!
