  1. Front row Radio City tickets from WFUV

I just heard that WFUV (90.7 in NY) has a pair of front row tickets for the first caller that donates $200 to their fall membership drive. You get the tickets plus all the membership benefits. You have to call 877-WFUV-907 and a contribution by phone for the tickets. There is more info about membership at wfuv.org.

  3. WFUV To Release Live Vol 11 w/ reg!

The $100 is actually a donation to WFUV and it is fully tax deductible. I know that only means something to us old folks. I am a member of WFUV and give them a donation every year because they are member supported. (no commercials) One of the only radio stations that plays Regina. I actually got tickets for free to see Regina once from WFUV because I am a member. If you are a member at the $60 (or more) level, you get a free pair of tickets once a month. They give a choice of three to four concerts every day and give them out on a first come first serve basis. I have gotten free tickets for PJ Harvey, Nellie McKay, Tori Amos, Damien Rice and more. You can listen to them online at wfuv.org and that's free too. The weekends are not the best but the weekdays rule. Live concerts every night. Those of you from NY it is 90.7.
  4. Charlotte Martin

Yeah, I am a big fan and have been for years. I have seen her live at least 10 times. Her version of "Wild Horses" is pretty awesome. She has an amazing voice! She is having a baby in April so she is taking a break. She recently put out an album "Reproductions" with some interesting covers. She also does a QOTSA cover that I love of "I Never Came".
  5. Joanna Newsom at Brooklyn Academy of Music

  6. Joanna Newsom at Brooklyn Academy of Music

I had some friends who were at this show and they said it was one of the best shows they have ever seen their entire life. I went out immediately and got some of her stuff. It sounds like Bjork singing Daniel Johnston songs. Not that this is bad but I am sure it will take quite a few listens to get into.
  7. TOP 5 GIGS OF 2007 ......

    1. Bjork at the Apollo (in my top 10 of all time) 2. Regina at Purchase 3. Tori Amos at WAMU MSG 4. Joan Osborn/Nellie McKay - Mountain Stage at Town Hall. This one didn't impress me but I did enjoy it overall. The Roaches were on the bill as well and they were really fun. Toby Lightman performed as well. 5. Laurie Berkner at Carnegie Hall. Now that I have a two year old, the kiddie shows get rated as well. I think I enjoyed the show as much as my daughter. Sorry I missed QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE, METRIC, DAMIEN RICE this year but they would probably have made my list if I was able to make it to more shows. I have seen all of them more than 6 times each and they always blow me away. I was busy going to shows that my 2 year old enjoys. She isn't quite ready for QOTSA. I forgot to add ZAPPA plays ZAPPA in Wallingford, CT. I am not a huge Zappa fan but the performance by the 8 musicians was impressive. I went with my husband so he didn't have to take the long drive by himself. It was worth the drive.
  8. I'll be MIA

Sorry to hear about your loss. I will be praying for you and your family. I had to miss the show as well due to health issues. Next time......
  9. Hammerstein Ballroom

I just put a ticket up on Ebay for Hammerstein. I have it up for cost with a buy it now option so if anyone is interested go here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item...=STRK:MESE:IT&ih=006 I have a wedding in California this weekend and I was dreaming when I bought this ticket that I would be able to make the concert. My Crohn's disease just won't let me do it all. Hope someone can enjoy it. Also, anyone on here (didn't want to offer this to all on Ebay) who wants to work out a delivery and save on the postage, let me know. I work in Long Island, live in White Plains and I will be at Tori on Thursday night at WAMU.
  10. New music ideas??

Nellie McKay and PJ Harvey have albums coming out.
  11. Re-release 11:11

I see that there is a copy for sale on Ebay. Looks like the real thing. http://cgi.ebay.com/REGINA-SPEKTOR-11-11-super-rare-CD-...QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

My husband is selling off all of our cds on Amazon and I am having a fit. I am making him keep all of "my" cds. I think the real cd sounds better than an mp3. I told him if he touches any of my Regina cds, I will break his fingers!
  13. List your top 10 favorite female artists.

  14. I just voted 160 times for regina, greenday and Matisyahu and not a single one of them pulled ahead of Avril. It is rigged. I also voted for Regina, Greenday and Christina and her numbers moved up by one when I voted. RIGGED I telly you. Oh well, I guess the important thing is that we all buy the album and contribute to the cause. I got it and I love it.
  15. Yeah, it's kind of cool that Regina fans made enough of an impact on a poll that they had to act fast and change things. We made Regina's name stand out to a lot of people for a short time anyway. The web people created the poll for a reason and we made a point to someone so hopefully we still have an impact on the outcome. Maybe they need to pick artists to help with their promotions or something.
