Alright, I got around to listening to Patron Saint and Ballad Of A Politician from that show last night and let me just say that I think it was definitely enough for me. Maybe the drums were too loud and they had bad sound at that venue but the drums really diminish the beauty of the melody in Patron Saint. I realize that they're trying to establish some kind of tempo but it doesn't need to be that painfully obvious, it almost feels dumbed down. The vocoder on Ballad Of A Politician is overbearing on the ENTIRE song, maybe parts of it would be okay but it's just too much going on. What I love the most about that song is how honest and straight-forward it is, the extra additions to it take away from it. Some things should just be left alone...

That cymbal rush towards the end on Open is a little much, otherwise it's really nice. I hope she drags out the "potentially huuuuu-man" on the studio. That's just me being picky though, I want Open to be extra special. Also on How, DAT WALTZ! So nice. The Party seems too short. Something about a Party, you taste like birthday on new years in a parade murmur sing boom. It's over.

How and The Party sound amazing and Open is everything I thought it would be and more. Funny I worried about the Synth player this whole time when it was the drummer player who was overbearing. I wish they'd turn his mics down. Another thing is I wished she talked to the audience more. So is it official that The Party is I cut off my hair? Nope, it's new. Any lyrics jump out at you?

Anyone hear How? It's a new song completely, correct?
  5. Other good music

Julia Holter's most recent album is very good. I would also like to recommend Casey Dienel's solo album and her work with White Hinterland, very heartbreaking stuff.
