  1. TWO SISTERS

Dear Brumstix, I just now found Regina's version of "Two Sisters," with Lenon Vincent. Can anyone tell me who he is, why it was recorded, when, and for what reason? I know it has something to do with a film project, right? And it's from the late 1990s? Any information would be greatly appreciated.
  2. a little bit of old info

Wow! Thank you for sharing this with us. This is so exciting, imo.
  3. Eternal Life {old, unheard song}

I feel...I don't even know. I love that there are old songs left. Really, I do. But it's so confusing that this footage exists. But it's not confusing--didn't I expect 11:11 outtakes. But I don't like the unexpected. But I love Regina! But she's a true artist. But I thought I knew everything there was to know! I just need awhile to process this. Not now, but soon.

  5. Lana Del Rey

Who else likes Lana Del Rey? Along with Regina, Florence + the Machine, Marina & the Diamonds, Foster the People, Santigold, Vampire Weekend, and Neon Hitch, she is one of my very favorite musicians. Right now, I'm in love with "Lucky Ones," "Without You," "Radio," and "Dum Dum."

and what's a pound of flesh i would check dandygarbage's youtube account. for some reason he has plenty of her rare songs. Oh, that guy is terrible. I know he has all the leaked ones, but there are a lot circulating that are not leaked yet.terrible? haha why so? oh well 'fraid i can't help you any further then That's fine. Thank you for trying. I say that about that guy (who has gotten taken off YouTube, hooray!)because he steals videos from other channels and uploads them under his own name. Very not cool to take other peoples' things and try to pass them off as your own.

I'm in Love with "Lucky Ones." She's such an artist. The way that her she uses her voice differently in so many songs makes her sound like more than just one person. A lot like Regina. Right now, I'm looking for some of her 'missing' songs, like "Butterflies" and "Boarding School." Do any of you Stixers know anything about those?
  10. Live Broadcast (NPR) on May 31st, 2012

When it's over, someone PLEASE upload! I just started, and she has already finished "Us." On to "Folding Chair..."

  12. ORIGINAL 11:11 DEMO CD FOR SALE!

I agree! I just started listening to "Braille" for the first ever in-depth time, and it feels so different. So purist! I love all of her work, but the demo tape and 11:11 help show how much she herself has evolved in the past 13 years.
  13. Does anyone have this one in Hi-Res? I think it's real, but it's online only in small form.

  16. Mental Images during songs.

For me, the new version of "Open" takes place in an old, old, castle, coverered in snow. A very blue--DEEP blue--with snowflakes. I picture the inside of the castle to be huge, yet lonely... the singer is alone. As she waits so wretchedly for someone who will never come, she bides her time thinking of how fallen the world around her is.

Though I've never been to a show ( ), from what I've seen, she doesn't play it often, right?
  18. quote: Originally posted by ifonly3000: quote: Originally posted by What's a Pound of Flesh?: Dear Brumstix, I am the YouTube user who had the video offering "Rare" Regina Spektor songs--which I knew were really not that rare, but just unreleased. I apologize for upsetting the Regina community, and the actions of some kind people lately have made me reconsider trading as a whole. "Trading" is, in a strong sense, a very "elitist" practice--not because you think yourself to be any "better" than anyone else, but just because your blessing in having whatever "rare" songs you do gives you status. I started out trading because I became a fan of a singer named Neon Hitch. As an artist, a great deal of her songs have gone underground, and thus I sought out someone on YouTube who was willing to share some of them with me. After this, I decided to "trade" in my own right, and was interesting in locating any more songs by her. But if you think about it, 95% of the "rare" music out there is only available because some kind person was willing to share it. Thus, why would someone hold music back to keep it from others? The answer, I think, is a mixture of fear (of loss of power) and a sense of greed (I found it, it's mine!). But this does not appeal to me. I am SO SORRY if this mislead any of you! With the example of people like "jesse" and "Kb93," I have decided to be both less withholding and more free with my music. Again, I am SO, SO SORRY for disrupting Regina's community, and am now very pleased to join in my own right. --"AdlerOfBirds" I am new to this forum, and I was wondering if you in any way could help me or advice me on how to start trading. I don't have any rare songs but any help will do. My goal is to get a hold of some of Neon Hitch's songs. I am a huge fan but it's hard finding any of her rare songs. Sorry if this bothers you in any way Hey! I'd love to help you--in my opinion, trading really isn't the most preferable way to go about finding songs, but that's just how it works in some cases. Do you have a YouTube or Last.Fm account? You can send me a message on either site--my username is "AdlerOfBirds."

I have a few more mental images, so I'll come back later with them I like it. Does anyone else think that Far, in general, is just a very blue album? Not just because of the cover (thought that may play a part), but because of the themes/tunes/production?
  20. The Survival Guide To Soviet Kitsch

Can someone re-upload this to anywhere? It's gone from ReSpektOnline, and the only full one, on Spike.com, is not downloadable. Can some kind soul oblige me?
  21. Color recognition to songs

I have synesthesia too! Here are a few of my song-color associations. "December"--A deep green, with veins of sage. "Ne Me Quitte Pas" (New Version)--Bright Red, with yellow polka dots (possibly related to the cover.) "Open"--like the ocean. A deep, serene blue, almost mottled with black. "Two Sisters"--A yellowish, dull brown swampy color. "Small Town Moon"--Kinda rusty, brown and red. "Riot Gear"--Royal purple.
  22. Survival Guide

Could anyone please upload this video for me? I know you can see it in parts on YouTube and Spike.com, but I don't want to pay for the whole Soviet Kitsch album on iTunes.... Could some compassionate soul do that for me?

Maybe, one day we can find out some more about this. If the latter person is not lying, the search may not be in vain.
