stwongbad85 0 Report post Posted December 27, 2005 yeah the british (european) notation for dates does make more sense as it goes from smallest incrament of time to the larges DD/MM/YYYY, as opposed to U.S MM/DD/YYYY. . It's a real punch in the crotch when i have to go through bootleg recordings on my computer and change all the file names so the dates are in a uniform and chronilogical order. it would be nice if we could set up universals standards of measurments and clasifications for everything. If only Esperanto would catch on, now that would solve much of the worlds problems. . I personally hate the metric system, (i have no clue how many Kilometers i drive to work in the morning, or how many grams I weigh, and dont even get me started on shoe sizes) even though it makes more sense to use. but if we adopted the metric system, think of all the fun little sayings we would loose, An pinch to grow an inch , walk a mile in someone elses shoes, the whole nine yards, the longest yard (Burt Reynolds movie not a phrase persay). (there are probably more...can anyone else think of them?) . The popular cheer at a Footbal (American) game upon gaining a first down would be changed to," First and 9.144 do it again!!!", eliminating all ryhme scheme and fluid tempo. . As easy as it would make our lives, (not to mention saving NASA billions on not having to worry about building several components of its deep space probes and shuttles to the wrong measurments.)I feel our language and our heritage would be too inconvienienced to throw out the US standards of measurment. ohh and also.....(while I'm at it) submergedcalamity "You people write a lot." although your statments may be brief, i would consider 127 posts writing a lot ehhh? _________________________Am, ________________________________David Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
