Liverpool Academy 4th Sept 2007

Recommended Posts

gotta agree with Bod, i don't really like the birmingham academy anyway, but when you are at the back, stuck under the overhanging balcony, and everybody is talking its wank. you can hardly hear anything from the stage ..... the academy in liverpool was loads smaller and loads better.

she should have played rock city in nottingham instead of the birmingham academy Smiler

I saw Regina in Birmingham yesterday, and she was wonderful, but nothing can top the small gigs I saw her play last year. So intimate and the small crowd hanging on her every breath - so special!

Just one thing that bothers me, why do people pay nearly 20 pounds a ticket just to talk through the entire set?!?! It was a big problem last night, with loads of people nattering away.

If you were one of them, which I don't expect you were if you're on here, you really spoiled it for a lot of people! Keep your cakehole shut! Alright!? MadWink

I uploaded the photos and vids to megaupload and the link is http://www.megaupload.com/?d=8GZCRU15. I hope it works.

Thanks for the link to the youtube vid bitsofbone - it was really great! It was funny that she asked everyone not to go away when she hurt her finger!

Oh and one last thing about the show. I was so pleased that she was solo. I don't like it when the electric guitar, bass and drum drown out her beautiful voice and piano playing. Regina is more than talented enough to carry a show on her own (unlike some 'artists' today who need a band to drown them out)!

I agree with you about the academy, it's not a good venue at all. After the gig, it took me 20 minutes to shift my weight sufficiently to unstick my feet from the floor. I mean, you expect it after a night of people dancing and spilling drink everywhere, but this was minging from the off. Maybe I'm just too old! Smiler

And I also agree with Johny, I much prefer her without the backing. Why drown out the sound of that gorgeous grand piano?

Engineer, I dont see Real Love on youtube. Frowner A direct link to it might help. That would be real nice. Smiler

No probs about the vids ppl. Glad you like them. I would have recorded more of the gig, but it was better at the time just to chill out and enjoy it. Now however im wishing I had recorded more - I could be sitting here right now watching something brilliant like (all of) Blue Lips, or Field Below - damn hindsight Mad! (ps. I really gotta cut down on those exclamation marks Big Grin)

Yes, links are great!

I can relate. I'll set out to do a setlist, write down the first couple of songs and then I get so mesmerized by her. I completely space the list and hope to assemble the balance from memory.
