There's a really pretty girl in one of my classes. I go to a small engineering college, and there are virtually no girls here. The female-to-male ratio is technically like 1:17, but that's a bit disingenuous, because all the girls here are either in nursing, business, or biomedical/biomolecular engineering, and the girls sorta clunk together in their own departments, so you don't really see them - the de facto ratio is more like 1:40 or worse. I wanted to go to a big state school or private uni with lots of girls... but I happened to be getting the most scholarships here so yeah, that's why I am here, which I'm slowly learning to appreciate little by little. I went to an all-boy Roman Catholic high school before that, so I have dealt with *very very* few girls in the wild. I cannot overstate that. During my entire high school, I talked with a girl on only two occasions. I know it's fucked, but I desperately need some sexual healing. I figure, if I'm still a virgin by age 23, then I'll buy a prostitute. Not to have sex or anything, just talk to, you know. Have some form of human contact, maybe be held in someone's embrace, that sorta thing. I'm into insecure and emotionally unstable girls. Like that one blonde emo girl from Misfits in series 3 that you could just tell was gonna die at the end of the episode. Marla Singer. Or Florence Marr from the movie 'Greenberg' directed by Noah Baumbach. That movie was depressing but true. Anyway, back to the pretty girl. She sits in the top-right corner of the class. I prefer to sit either in the center or the back center. She's got brown hair. She's really skinny and has good fashion sense. She wears form-fitting jeans, which really accentuates just how skinny she is. I'm not sure what her eye color is. I kinda just stare at the back of her lovely hair, but I think her eyes are green or blue. Probably blue. I got a sense of her reserved demeanor and her wonderful perfume, but I can't quite discern her face. I looked at her once. Anyway, she's pretty. I mean, she's not hot, but pretty. I don't like girls who are hot.. they're way too fertile, I think. I prefer girls that look kind and appear unconventionally beautiful. I don't really grade girls on the fuckability scale you know? cause that's just downright demeaning. Not that I want to go into the whole who demeans who or allows themselves to be demeaned debate. Anyway, where was I. Right. That girl. So, the time for the class expired. And I don't give two shits for that class, so I bolted right out. It's a bullshit 1-credit course that's on the curriculum for an engineering degree for no apparent reason. I feel pissed for having to buy the $45 book which we've used twice so far and sit through the 2-hour lecture session every Tuesday. It's like a glorified technical drawing class, which is pretty superfluous, cause we're going to be taking an Intro to the graphing software CAD class later on. And the professor's not qualified either and is pretty lousy at setting up any structure in the class. Anyway, this time, I had to stop to turn in something cause I turned in the wrong thing and yeah, so I was somewhat behind her and ended up walking right behind her to the library. She crossed the street and walked on the other side of the street, and then finally we intersected when she had to cross the other intersection. Now I was only a couple feet behind her. Here's the part where I'm really let down. I'm walking behind her, and I notice a cigarette in her left hand. I was crushed. I think her name is Theresa? I've been trying to listen in if she's ever called in class, and she's pretty quiet, so I'm not sure what her last name is. Anyway, I'm very disappointed in you, Theresa. I wanna go up to her and just ask her "How do you feel about dying due to lung cancer?" I wanna tell her "I think you're too wonderful to die, but it's your body and you can kill it whatever way you want." Sigh.

Ha, how's that? You guys were expecting some sort of happy ending where I actually talk to a girl in the wild. Nope. I unnecessarily dragged this little story out. Classic bait-and-switch.

tldr; Pretty girl I quietly crushed on is smokin'.

Is it just me or did the forum get a down-grade? Some things seem to be off. The star rating system is broken all of a sudden.

They better maintain the hosting for this forum. So much data and discussion here, and community.

I'm staring at you all. Most traffic ever?

Let's analyze the traffic here: either some one linked to some post on here, or more likely, people are suffering through exams before Thanksgiving and keep checking back here every so often as a break or procrastination.

If it's exam week for you, then

Irregardless, you probably have some work to take care of before you can enjoy your lovely Thanksgiving break. Go do it.

The entire system in general could use an upgrade, in my opinion. It's lacking a lot of basic functions that some of the more updated forum systems possess. It would be cool if they could port everything to a new system , like vBulletin, or phpBB, but that is unlikely to happen.

As far as the hosting goes, the forum is hosted by Social Strata/Hoop.la, which is a free service that is used by tons of other forums/websites.

Disregard my speculation about the traffic increase here. I realized shortly after I posted that, that the reason for the high number of guests was probably because reginaspektor.org went live:

http://www.reginapolis.com/

It looks nice. Although I liked all the other iterations as well. It doesn't have as much content to navigate as the old site.

How lovely.

Found this through the search feature when I was trying to find one of my old comments.

edit: I think the search box is broken now. I think they lost some of the index/caches of really old comments? That's probably what happened when I noticed that the forums were more off than usual. Hmm..

Zooey Deschanel's New Girl sitcom gets much better with the fourth episode. I'm catching up with it right now.

Nick: "It's okay. Maybe you were right. Maybe I'm not ready for meaningless sex with beautiful women."

Jess: "Well, you know, maybe when you are, you'll be able to show her your other penis. Your heart penis."

Nick: "Get out of my room."

Full disclosure: I was circumcised and have a tiny penis. It's not good for much. At least my soul has depth.

Crude humor can be hilarious if you're watching with yourself, but is disastrous with family.

Up until now, I was hoping New Girl would get cancelled so Zooey could move on to better things. Now I'm growing to appreciate Zooey's antics and spacey personality.

For those who don't have exams or done with them, consider watching http://www.hulu.com/Spy - hilarious and smart British sitcom.

For those who have forgotten, this thread is called "Bulletin board". ZOMBO.COM is that way.

It's a long comic but heartwarming.

In the same vein, another found connection shared on the site: http://www.reddit.com/r/AskRed..._altered_the/c0tm6ce

There are so many of these types of missed connections. I'll share a few other of my own stories of a similar nature if I feel brave enough and in a wistful mood later. ;^)

I just discovered this song today and the lyrics, although meant to be ironic, sadly relate to my persona:

"Please Don't Talk To Me I Fall In Love So Easily" by My Darling YOU!

("For No One" by The Beatles also comes to mind. A song for every occasion. ;^D)
