1000 Albums to Hear

Recommended Posts

I don't know what's been posted on here, so I'll give it a shot.

Sheryl Crow - Sheryl Crow

Grace - Jeff Buckley

Laundry Service - Shakira

So Much More - Brett Dennen

Absolution- Muse

Bread Anthology- Bread

Way to Normal - Ben Folds

Making Movies - Dire Straits

The Singles 1969-1973 - The Carpenters

Songbird - Eva Cassidy

Whatever and Ever Amen- Ben Folds Five

Who Killed Amanda Palmer - Amanda Palmer

Don't laugh at my list. I really suck at making them. But, that's all I can think of at the moment.

Thanks for this thread and your lists, by the way.

Since seeing this, I have checked out a whole heap of stuff and have gone and bought Moon Safari by Air and Little Plastic Castle by AniDiFranco. I also want to get hold of O by Damien Rice and Give Up by The Postal Service.

Yeah that's why I like this thread! We talk so much about individual songs, which is great, but the art of making a great album is something to not ignore. I've checked out most of the albums on here, unless I know from experience that the artist isn't my favorite.

I'll add a few more to the list (sorry if there are repeats):

A Long Dream About Swimming Across The Sea - Tyler Ramsey (guitarist of Band of Horses, saw him live last year and he is AWESOME, as is his album)

For Emma, Forever Ago - Bon Iver

Thought For Food - The Books

Night Falls Over Kortedala - Jens Lekman

All This Time - Heartless Bastards

Yellow House - Grizzly Bear

Sun Giant - Fleet Foxes

Everything All The Time - Band of Horses

Destroyer's Rubies - Destroyer

Oh, my!

Good thing or a bad thing? I really love that album... I can see your looks...

Her new album isn't bad either. Except songs like "Hips Don't Lie" drive me mad- overplayed on the radio. Shakira has an amazing voice though, you have to agree with me on that!

More surprising than a good or bad thing. I don't like "Laundry Service" much, but I do like her album "Fijacion Oral." I was obsessed with it when I was 13. Razzer
