But I wrote down the little pop up facts from the video for you, since I had nothing better to do. haha. *Regina Ilyinichna Spektor. *Grew up in Soviet Russia. *Speaks Russian, English, and Hebrew. *She started classical piano lessons at age 6. *Her family emigrated to The Bronx when she was 9. *She had to leave her piano behind. *She still played on tabletops and windowsills. *Until she found a piano in the basement of a local synagogue. *The she could practice her “pa-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-arts”. *Points to mannequin: “Pain in the ass.” *The art department had a hard time getting the mannequin to pose. *They spent 2 days “trying to give a guy with no head a personality”. *Regina doesn’t own a TV, watch the news or read a paper. *She doesn’t want to get “overwhelmed by the world”. *In 2009, she was named one of the Top 50 celebrity tweeters. *Even though she didn’t have a twitter account. *So she made a ca-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-all. *An imposter was tweeting using her name. *He was having a blast. *Regina based this song on John Cusack’s character in High Fidelity. *She enjoys writing from a man’s perspective. *Regina’s pronunciation of “better” is a poke at her British friends. *She spent 6 months living in England during college. *She also spent one summer working at a butterfly farm. *Other jobs Regina has held: *Office drone at an OB/GYN clinic. *Secretary at a private investigator’s office. *Opening act for The Strokes. *And for Kings of Leon. *Regina’s necklace (in the video) is part of a set of Christmas ornaments. *The one that she drops is larger than the one she wears. *The guy in the video is Scoot McNairy. *Scoot also starred in Death Cab for Cutie’s first video. *The director asked Scoot to be in this video for a very good reason. *He knew he’d fit in the mannequin’s clothes. *The powders are colorful spices from Chinatown. *The scene had to be shot in one take. *The powders stained the clothes. *And got all over the equipment. *Regina spent a long time cleaning up. *In the powder room. I found the image through stumbleupon (am i the only person who still uses this site? lol), and there was some info about it in the header, but once i pulled the image up without stumbleupon, that info (including location) was gone.. I'll go search around and see if i can find it again! EDIT: Hmmmm, i seem to be mistaken. Sorry about that! I'm not very savy, so i don't know how to find more info than is fairly readily available.
