I was watching Monday Night Football when I found out.

"People asking questions lost in confusion

Well I tell them there's no problem, only solutions

Well they shake their heads and they look at me as if I've lost my mind

I tell them there's no hurry

I'm just sitting here doing time..."

There's a wonderful biopic about John Lennon by the BBC that premiered on PBS last month. It's called Lennon Naked and can be streamed here [1hr22min] - it's like the movie Across the Universe but with great acting; Lennon is played by Christopher Eccleston, the 9th Doctor. Then watch LENNONYC which picks up where "Lennon Naked" left off and covers Lennon's political activism for peace, decriminalization of marijuana in the song 'John Sinclair', for humane treatment of prisoners in the song 'Attica State' (ironically, his assassin is currently incarcerated at Attica Correctional Facility), and how Nixon/the FBI tried to deport him.

John Lennon is my hero, idol, and moral teacher as well. His song 'Imagine' is basically my philosophy on life and law. I consider myself a pacifist, a feminist, a socialist, a secular humanist, a Nutopian, and a patriot, because of John Lennon.

The world misses you, Mr. John "Christ" Lennon. Wish you were still around, spreading your dream and the message of peace and love.

Obviously. It was for a benefit album - Instant Karma: The Amnesty International Campaign to Save Darfur.

I'm amazed at her ability to do such soulful covers of songs and almost take ownership of them (see '

').

For some reason, I thought she did a cover of 'Imagine' as well but it seems I'm mistaken.

Perhaps I was a bit too cryptic.

My point, which I should have stated, was that I don't believe it was the "official" release that reg used for her inspiration. I am sure she heard this recording.

While the "official" release is nice, it lacks the beauty and depth, I believe, of the unreleased "start again silly boy take 4". Plus we have no clue what John would have done with the arrangement with the other three guys anyway.

What I tried to imply was "take 4" is the rawest unplugged version, I prefer it, and I'll bet reg heard it... Cool

Happy holidays to all.
