i would not call it selling out, not by any means. this is a very regina sounding and written song. i did say i liked it, i'm just not to keen on the seemingly god loving subject matter. it's an opinion, so i'm not saying she's wrong for writing music that i interpret one way opposed to how others would or how she meant it.

i do feel a tori amos fan vibe though. and yeah, i'm a tori fan. people will eat whatever is handed to them by any artist they love. i find that obsession and not love; tori and regina are two of my very favorite artists and i do not have to like everything they create; and thats okay. but just because overall they are amazing women who make amazing music doesn't mean that i personally have to adore everything they do and defened it and tell everyone one else who doesn't like it they are wrong and interpreting it incorrectly. it's music! it's meant to be interpreted! it's meant to be personal or form to the listener! to me, Laughing With is preachy, and very pro relgion. -that's okay. it just ain't my thing.

someone earlier on mentioned that even a person without religious faith will turn to God in times of crisis because you have to believe in a higher power when it comes down to it. boy, did that make me laugh.

i didn't mean to sound confrontational and i apologize if i did! i don't really believe in god either and that makes it a little hard for me to connect with this song. but i do think religions are very cool and beautiful and i love and respect (respekt Smiler ) regina immensely, so i find any insight into the way she thinks and feels fascinating.

And on a side note, I find it a bit funny that anyone would find this song preachy or pro-religion considering she makes fun of both those things in the song!

As was said earlier, its pro God, if anything I would call it anti religion.

I love it. I think the lyrics are beautiful and its really catchy. It should be a number 1...

And the tracklist seems perfect. The songs that I've heard all blend so well togther. Its weird that she writes so many songs over years and picks some out and they go perfect like they were written as an album. I don't think Begin to Hope was completely like that which disappointed me a little bit but I really think that Far will be. (although I still loved Begin to Hope as well btw but more as seperate songs)

If it makes #1 - I'll cry. That will mean that the music listening public isn't braindead.

Personally I like 'Laughing With' because she's pushing so many buttons with it.

And the song covers an area of human nature rarely discussed especially in music.

We are a fickle race after all, and she has nailed it.

ps. The track list in her last blog had me almost hyperventilating... I nearly died. How fucking sweet this album gonna be.
