Thanks for the link, sweetness! I like your thread idea, and I'm glad you like my section idea!

I think this is a good idea and a beneficial and legitimate pursuit. I agree with you.

Love the diplomat-speak, Brady. Smiler

Why Thanks, I get carried away with high vocabulary sometimes.....lol I am only 14 too. But yea, I love this idea.

Touche^

I'm really going by remembering what my mindset was when I started reading here, and then when I started posting. In both cases I was severely disoriented and I wouldn't want new fans to be turned away by that.

Plus, I stand by my stance AGAINST whole sections for a certain album/tour, for ANY band's message board. They're so counterintuitive to their intent and just make everything more spread out and less comprehensive.

i'd /love/ a section for lyric discussion! that would be beast! (i've been using that word all day...)

would it have threads set out very organzed-y, like a thread for every song? or only for every released song? Or for each album? (how messy...)

i think this might be a job for mod (who seems to be lurking quite a lot lately, shutting down a lot of poor Brady's threads. [don't feel bad-you're brave to create them at all! it's great that you're so enthusiastic about the Stix!!])

anyway, i guess mod would be the one to open it up, right? and then i assume s/he will leave threads up to us. Shall we use the current thread as HQ, assuming this thing gets liftoff?

i'm way too excited, already coming up with a gameplan. i need to calm down..

Well yes, I'm pretty sure mod is the only one who can set up a new section. I suppose each song would get a thread... Do you think they should be started all at once, or added one at a time as different songs strike stixers' fancies?

I do the same thing all the time! I'm glad you're excited about this and have a lot of ideas. It will be great to not be the only one really interested in the idea when (and if) it happens.

Oh and about using the current thread as HQ, yeah that seems appropriate.

I've noticed that you, like me, have quite an interest in interpreting/discussing songs. Smiler

I say, this type of section we're talking about would be basically what I'm here for. Big Grin

so eh...let's just hope mod sees this and grants our wish?

you really are not the only one. song-discussions on this forum is such a mess, I really think a seperate section would clean this place up. i feel like all the time im discussing a song in one thread and then later ill discover it has already been brought up in another thred. maybe this isn't possible to avoid though?

btw, can anyone tell me what "HQ" means?

oh, and i think the threads should just be started as people have things to say about dif songs, otherwise there will really just be a superfluous amount of threads.

HQ= headquarters.

Thanks for the support! Now if only we could lure mod over to this thread... Any ideas on how to do that? Maybe we could rename it something eye-catching like "The Flame Thread." He'd swoop down to lock it and then immediately see what a great idea this is. Lol.

You're welcome. And Haha great idea!

Seriously though, I'm going to send in the suggestion using that "Contact Us" link at the bottom of the page. Has anyone here ever used that and gotten results?

Edit: Okay I just sent Forum Support this e-mail:

Hello Forum Support.

I'm not sure if this is the appropriate contact for this inquiry, but I would like to make a suggestion for a new section on the Regina Spektor forum. In short, this section would consist entirely of individual threads for Regina song, each of which be devoted solely to discussion of the meaning and interpretation of the song to which it pertains.

Discussion of this idea can be found at http://reginaspektor.infopop.c...2813/m/910105902/p/1.

Thank you for your time and consideration of this suggestion.

I won't be home between 3 and 9:30 EST today, but I'll try to keep you guys posted on whether I get a response.
