spektography 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2012 Lyrics: How.... Can I, forget your love How can I Never see you again There is a time and place For one more sweet embrace And theres a time oooh when it all oooh went wrong.. I guess you know by now That we'll meet again Some how... How-oww-oww-oww baby How, can I begin again How can I, try to love someone new Someone who isn't you How can our love be true When I'm not ooh I'm not oh-over you I guess you know by now That we we'll meet again Somehow... Time, can come and take away the pain But I.... Just want my memories to remain To hear your voice To see your face There's not one moment I'd erase You are a guest here now... So baby how... Can I forget your love How can I Never, see you again How can I ever know Why some stay others go When I dont ooh I dont want you to go I guess I know by now That we we'll meet again, somehow..... Time, can come and wash away the pain But I, Just want my mind to stay the same To hear your voice To see your face There's not one moment I'd erase You are guest here... Now So baby how, Can I forget your love How can I Never see you again?

sweetness in my lungs 71 Report post Posted May 5, 2012 Awesome! =) But I think the line: quote: But I guess you know by now That will meet again should be "we'll" instead of "will". This song's lyrics are so so different than anything I've heard from reggie. This sounds really personal. I don't think it is all the way through. But it sounds as if it is. Even though songs like Paris also talks of love the ones that come to mind seem more story-telling than How does. In Paris there's many references and it sounds like just a made-up song. This one is stripped down and honest and clean somehow. I mean, there's no "oh, I wonder what this song is about" for this one. I wonder if it has something to do with the musical. That she got some ideas there. Or something.
Kateateyou 14 Report post Posted May 5, 2012 Yeah, the lyrics do sound really different. I was just reading this on the quotes thread: "It doesn’t feel natural for me to write some diary type song. I want to write a classic like Yesterday but weird songs about meatballs in refrigerators come into my head – I can’t help it." Maybe Reg is trying out this kinda songwriting? I read a comment on Youtube about how this song could be about Dan Cho or someone who died, and that kinda fits. Though the lyrics have the romantic sort of theme in them. I feel like I've said this somewhere before. Sorry if I'm repeating myself! xD
himynameism 212 Report post Posted May 6, 2012 I really love this song. And I've said it before and I will say it again...I really feel like this is maybe a "reject" from the musical. Either way it is super lovely and beautiful and I want to cry tears of joy every time I hear it
Stepped On A Syringe 16 Report post Posted May 9, 2012 I feel like this style of songwriting-- a classic love ballad--might be influenced by her relationship with Jack. I am sure she has been in other relationships before, but this is the first serious one that we know about, and it might make some sense that a bit of autobiographical emotion might have entered this song.. 2.99 a gallon 0 Report post Posted May 17, 2012 I feel like this song could be about Dan Cho. I mean, something like the death of a close friend isn't something anyone gets over after a year, and Regina probably wrote this as a way to cope with the loss. And the raw emotion in it is what I love so much about it. Every time she hits the high note, it also hits the high points emotionally. Such a beautiful song. makingstuffup 1 Report post Posted May 18, 2012 There are some pretty glaring romantic connotations (at least to me) in this song which leads me to believe that it's not about Dan. It's the type of song someone would write if they had just broken up with the love of their life/boyfriend or gotten divorced.
Be like the water, people. 21 Report post Posted May 19, 2012 I agree with those who say the song is romantic in nature. The verse: How, can I begin again How can I, try to love someone new Someone who isn't you How can our love be true When I'm not ooh I'm not oh-over you says that she'll have to "love someone new," as in a replacement for this person. I don't think a person has to relearn love when a close friend dies, and i can't imagine a need to replace that friend, but it fits a breakup well. Maybe it's to a dead lover, but i think this song is for a lover, imho. Such a great song, and more autobiographical-feeling than even Fidelity and better, which have always felt like her most straightforward songs to me. It really does seem to be for someone who has been taken away from her, the feeling unsure of whether she'll see him again. The fact that they must meet again "somehow" seems to indicate that it's improbable from a practical standpoint: he moved away, or dumped her, or even died (the last one feels truest to me. There's a tragedy in this song whenever i hear it). It seems the reason she "has" to see him again, the implied promise that it will happen is because she can't imagine NOT meeting again. Not because it's likely that she will.
thefinalfling 32 Report post Posted May 26, 2012 After reading the newsweek Article it occurred to me that this song could be about Moscow. About leaving, about the desire to go back and the fear of losing the memories. Or I could be completely wrong
