Right now I'm processing the video. There's not much to see but the audio is fantastic. Regina wa spectacular as usual and I finally got a new picture with her to replace the old one! And I made her laugh when I said "I got a picture with you 4 years ago but I was going through an awkward chubby phase".

I'll be posting my recording later today, but for now I thought I'd give a brief account of what transpired after the show.

There were more people waiting for Regina when she came out than I have ever seen before, but she took the time to get to everyone. Most of the brumstix contingency was hovering towards the back of the herd, waiting for the numbers to thin out in an effort to get a little more face time. A few people got some personal photos/autographs, so I'll let them give their own accounts of those interactions and just focus on the group conversation.

Regina said she was glad that we were there, because the record label has been updating her website's design, and they wanted to change brumstix as well. She asked if we were very attached to the color scheme and if we would be ok if it was changed. I said it would probably be ok to change it, as long as we didn't lose any of the content. Regina said, "I know, that's what happened last time." She added that there would also be new features, and Jamie said that having private messaging would be good.

Regina then asked us what our decision was, and we again expressed our concern about the content. She said that they swore, "As much as you can make a giant corporation swear," that the content would not be lost. We agreed to the upgrade, and she told us how worried she was about making this decision. I told her that we'd take responsibility for making the call if something went wrong.

So, brumstix may be changing soon, and if it does go wrong, I guess you can blame me (and anyone else who wants to admit to agreeing to the change). Smiler

I got good seats this time, so I had a good angle to shoot from. I'm uploading them in a bit. the only thing I messed up was Firewood--batt died halfway through and I had to change batteries.

On my way home, I was replaying the conversation we had with her about the Brümstix design change and thought to myself, "Oh sh*t, did we just make an executive decision on behalf of the 'Stix?" I mean, she did express though that if people don't like it, she'll be pointing fingers at us. Hah. She also said she doesn't have an email--which drives her manager insane apparently. I'd imagine so. :P

I can't wait for you guys to listen to Open. It really was a stand out for me that I almost teared up.

You know the thing I love about her? It's that she takes her time to meet everyone and it doesn't seem like a chore to her. I've been to a handful of concerts, and there are only a few people I stay behind for to meet. Regina being one of them, I really can feel how she's genuinely invested in giving those few fleeting moments with her fans. It's almost like it's not just our faces that might break from too much smiling--it's also hers. Even as the crowd already thinned out, she would still seek the eyes out of whoever's still around, and see who wants a picture, a smile, a hug (this is of course, the best out of everything and we got it!), and it's just there: a radiation of happiness from us and her.

While we were waiting outside, we saw these two old ladies waiting outside. I guess they were with their families, who were more invested in meeting Regina. One of them said goodbye to the other, and I couldn't help but tell the rest of the 'stixers that "hey, that's us 40 years from now." Haha. Still waiting outside Regina's door after an epic concert.

Regina, you special snowflake. Don't ever melt. Big Grin

Also, here's a pic of us (someone just has to photoshop the dude out of the frame):

That's great! I'm sure anything will look better than the current design. Fingers crossed we don't lose any content though. Right now I am running a program that downloads entire websites from an URL just in case, yes I am THAT paranoid Wink

EDIT: thank you for the recording! Amazing quality, even better than the Wellmont one.

Very happy to see Dance anthem in the setlist again; Open is hauntingly beautiful, oh I can't wait for the album
