Any Good Stories

Recommended Posts

Hey Shawn,

Peter Constantine has pretty much translated the whole kit and kaboodle, and his love for Babel really shines through, I think - like Michael Hoffmann with the equally great Joseph Roth - so he's a good guy to go with. Hope that points you in the right direction...though the learning Russian approach would be fantastic, wouldn't it? Roll Eyes(<wistfully)

How are you finding Ezra Pound? I've only ever read his imagist stuff (they're not too shabby!), but I've been meaning to give the Cantos a go for ages. Would you recommend them?

I think we're accidentally forging some kind of literary thread, here WinkCool!

Hey Tooots,

Thanks for the help. I saw some books translated by Constantine at a local book shack. As for learning Russian though I found a good book on learning it at the same store. Smiler

As for Pound I've neglected by book of poems due to a local film festival. I keep forgetting to toss it in my pack for intermission readings. Once I get through some of his early work I'll let you know. Good news is the Cantos are included so I can shoot you a review.

Thanks again for letting me know about Constantine! Big Grin
