Despite the fact that I was only eleven years old at that time and I didn't quite understand right away how serious and sad it was, as time went by and I saw more and more documentaries about it, it made me wake up and realize that these kind of tragedies, despite not happening in Portugal, affect me too. At least it affected the way I see the human being and made me realize that there are no boundaries to its evilness. So, I really agree with you, it made me mature quicker. And I guess that happened to all the people of our generation, disregarding living in the USA or living in France.
  4. Regina is everywhere

I don't remember which song I heard first but I remember the exact night I fell in love for the first time with a Regina song. It was "Ode to Divorce" and I listened it like 50 times on repeat that night. Then I listened to the rest of her work and it wasn't that automatic. I was only 16 at that time and my musical taste sucked so I thought Regina was too weird and got a bit freaked out when I saw Soviet Kitsch album cover The rest of the story I don't quite remember how I started to really like her but I guess it was when Begin to Hope was released that I opened my mind to my all time favorite musician P.S. "Ode to Divorce" was the only song which brought tears to my eyes when I saw her live (I don't cry easily). I think it was more due to the fact that it was the song which introduced me to Regina and I was so grateful for it than anything else.
  5. On friends and Regina Spektor

I've already converted around 10 people into Regina fans and still counting that's how persistent I am Today two friends of mine wanted to imitate me so they started to talk a lot about Regina ahahah I felt quite proud about it..

  8. Regina's Radiohead Cover on iTunes this tuesday!

I love Radiohead and I got so freaking excited when I knew that Regina covered 'No Surprises' which is one of my favorites from "Ok Computer" (one of the best albums ever made from my point of view). I hope some day Regina follows Amanda Palmer's example and covers some more songs of them...I would go crazy if she would chose "Let Down", "Paranoid Android" or "Lucky"!

  14. RIP Dan Cho

Anyway, though you've probably all seen it before, I thought it took on a new light watching it this time. "Machine" was probably the only moment of the show where I was able to took my eyes off Regina and watched Dan and K playing (that part when the violin sounds like a siren mesmerizes me). He was such a great musician and Dan seemed so enthusiastic
