If you're logged in and go to the songs page, when you click the name of the song it should take you to the lyrics page. There should be an "Edit Lyrics" link at the bottom of the existing lyrics (which won't be very far down the page if there aren't any lyrics). I'm hoping to post another update to the site tomorrow night to allow audio and video uploads.

From running a quick query on the database, these are the songs without lyrics. Some of them might be duplicates of songs where the names are spelled differently. If so, let me know and I'll just fix the duplication: Call Them Brothers Dance Antehm Of The 80s Ezra Pound Feeling Good (Shara Worden) Firewood Happy Birthday Hero of the Story How In the Studio Inside a Boy (Shara Worden) It's a Boy Lauging With Love, You're a Whore No Surprises Oh Marcello Prayer of Francois Villon Riot Gear The Old Jacket The Party The Sword and the Pen The Tower (Nicole Atkins) The Way It Is (Nicole Atkins) Twenty Years of Snow You Don't Know Me You Stayed at Home

Well, I've posted my update for the weekend. It's a little smaller than I was hoping, but I got a lot of the difficult stuff out of the way. You can now register and become a member of the site. This will give you access to upload content. I had hoped to have audio, video, and song lyrics working by the end of the weekend, but for now all you can do is edit song lyrics. Eventually just registering probably won't be enough to get people "uploader" status, but I figure that can be worked out later. I hope to have audio and video uploading done very soon, I'm just too tired to keep working right now. We have a lot of songs missing lyrics, so if anyone's looking for some busywork

He's in a lot of pain and is recovering slowly, but it's not like his life is in danger or anything. At this point it's a question of how much pain he'll be in, and for how long. He had surgery on a herniated disc in his back for the second time in 10 years, and the last time he basically came out of surgery feeling 100% ok. This time he feels worse than before the surgery. With this kind of thing there's no real guarantee; it can make it better, it can do nothing, or it can make it worse. The doctor thinks he removed all of the disc that was impinging on the nerve (causing the pain), and that the current pain is caused by swelling (the scar tissue from the last surgery) and muscle spasms. I just visited him and he seems to have gotten slightly better since yesterday. He can stand up for about 10 minutes, but he can't bend or sit at all right now. It might take up to a month to know how things will ultimately turn out. I appreciate your concern and I'll pass it along.

Sorry about going dark for a few days here, my dad just had surgery and I've been a little preoccupied. I have been working on the code and I'll be posting another fairly big update this weekend.

Sorry not to have a more exciting update for the end of the weekend, but I spent most of the night working on the user registration and login process, which is very time-consuming, but essential if we want to enable the new features we've been mentioning. I have the process working, but I have not enabled it on the site yet, as it won't get you anything right now. Photos and videos are coming, but transferring them to the new server is slow going. Emmerrrrrrr, if you want some good tour photos to play with, try contacting Jamie, she has hundreds and I think she's been picking out the good ones lately to upload to the site (when that feature is ready). I'll have more updates tomorrow. Thanks for hanging in there guys, we appreciate your patience.

Hi everyone. Just a little mid-weekend update as I continue to work on the new site. All the shows, songs, and audio should now be converted over. You can play around with the new sorting and searching features and let me know what you think. I'm not planning on keeping the logo (it's the one we used for the Haiti show page), but making a new one is low on my list right now. If you've got some artistic talent and would like to try making a logo for us, it should be exactly 920px wide and no more than about 200px tall. To save anyone testing out the site some minor annoyances, the "enter" key doesn't work for search right now, you'll have to click the button. I hope this holds you over for another day or two, and please send any all feedback my way.
  8. 2012 Fall Tour

I'm thinking Baltimore, Port Chester, Storrs, Cleveland, and New York for starters. I'll have to think about some of the others, but it should be a fun October
  9. 2012-05-31(Le) Poisson Rouge, Bleecker St, NYC!

I might be able to go to this show. A friend got tickets and offered to take me as her +1, but she's not sure if she can make it that night. Hopefully it will work out.

This show was really incredible, and even though the setlist was almost identical to the one in Philly a few nights ago, I feel like I just heard something completely unprecedented. The sound in the theater was amazing, and Regina's vocals were absolutely perfect. I recorded the show (as usual), and after a perfunctory listen, I think this recording is going to come out better than the Wellmont or Tower Theater shows. Jamie and I talked to Jack after show, and he told us that he had designed Regina's new t-shirts (with the exception of the singular red piano key on one of the shirts, which was Regina's contribution). While waiting for Regina, we caught Brad Whiteley (Regina's keyboardist) and his girlfriend Erika Lloyd as they were waiting for a Taxi. We told them we had seen their band "Little Grey Girlfriend" at a tiny basement club on Houston St. last summer. They were very excited about having been recognized as artists of their own, and told us that we had made their night. They introduced us to their guitarist, and we talked with them for a few minutes about the show on Houston, Regina's music, and how two people from the middle of Pennsylvania had ended up at a show by a little band on Manhattan's lower east side. Almost as soon as we said goodbye to 3/4 of Little Grey Girlfriend, Regina emerged from the venue's side exit to greet her loyal admirers. A non-Brumstix group presented her with a cardboard pickle and giant book titled "Reading Time with Pickle." A dozen or so people were fortunate enough to score a photograph with Regina before she got to us, and when she recognized the group of stixers (many of whom had been at the show on Saturday night), her face lit up with a giant smile. We told her that Brumstix seemed completely ok with the changes she had asked us about in Philly, and she reiterated how happy she was to have our input on the subject. Betsy's group photo really captures how wonderful the atmosphere was tonight. It was great seeing all of you again, and I can't wait for next time!

  14. I'll be posting my recording later today, but for now I thought I'd give a brief account of what transpired after the show. There were more people waiting for Regina when she came out than I have ever seen before, but she took the time to get to everyone. Most of the brumstix contingency was hovering towards the back of the herd, waiting for the numbers to thin out in an effort to get a little more face time. A few people got some personal photos/autographs, so I'll let them give their own accounts of those interactions and just focus on the group conversation. Regina said she was glad that we were there, because the record label has been updating her website's design, and they wanted to change brumstix as well. She asked if we were very attached to the color scheme and if we would be ok if it was changed. I said it would probably be ok to change it, as long as we didn't lose any of the content. Regina said, "I know, that's what happened last time." She added that there would also be new features, and Jamie said that having private messaging would be good. Regina then asked us what our decision was, and we again expressed our concern about the content. She said that they swore, "As much as you can make a giant corporation swear," that the content would not be lost. We agreed to the upgrade, and she told us how worried she was about making this decision. I told her that we'd take responsibility for making the call if something went wrong. So, brumstix may be changing soon, and if it does go wrong, I guess you can blame me (and anyone else who wants to admit to agreeing to the change).

Glad to see everyone as happy with the recording as I was when I first opened the file. I've been having a crappy run with the quality of my recordings lately, but this one seems to have been steeped in luck. Hopefully the fortune infusion will last through Philadelphia and New York
