You're right Lisa, I was trying to figure out what was so different about it besides the theme obviously. Most of the time Regina's songs are hopeful, even when they're making fun of society.

I wonder if something happened recently to inspire Reg to pen that song.

As soon as heard it I thought back to Obama's speech from a few weeks ago.

I think a lot of things have been happening actually. A girl in CT was shot just recently because she was Jewish, some crazy people were arrested because of a conspiracy to bomb Jewish centers in the bronx (Eeker my heart skipped a beat when I read that story), and most recently that Holocaust Museum shooting. Also everything that was going on with Isreal and Palestine a while back. Maybe there is more too, but I think that'd be enough to write an angry song on the subject.

Anyway, thanks for the recordings and pictures and everything! I'm so jealous of you guys! But I'm glad you all had a great time Big Grin

Hmm more than enough fuel for the fire there really. And god bless Regina for sharing it, many artist wouldn't.

I agree, more than enough fuel, this song was a long time coming. Its certainly not a new thing (sadly, people can be so ignorant). I totally forgot about the Holocaust Museum shooting. This world is so saddening...thank God for people like Regina.

Yeah, I just meant that those were the most recent happenings. I could see her getting upset and writing this song recently. But yeah, it isn't anything new. It's sad.

the show was better than anyone could have hoped for. i was shocked by how perfectly done each song seemed to be and the strings and drums added a lot. still can't get over what an incredible song machine is. and to hear human of the year + previously unheard holocaust song was like a dream. thank you to all who posted recordings!

Ahaha, you figured out a way to get home?

"All The Holocaust Deniers" was such a paralyzing song, you can hear it in the audience when the song ended...

Regina put her heart and soul into this song.

Oh I wasn't addressing anyone with that, just making a statement about the history of intolerance.

Nothing new, but new to hear people speaking out about something that has gone on under the radar for a long time, including someone as influential as the US President. It's about time.

Anyway, much laughing out loud when Regina forgot the words to Consequence... Big Grin

Me and the person next to me are the ones yelling the words after Reg says, "ONE REPRESENTATIVE PLEASE!"

SUPERQUOTE!

Yeah that was really funny. I was too far back so she wouldn't have heard me.

On how far back we were: We were in row W on the right side, and then my friend who had the last seats in the front row all the way to the left texted me after Little Joy and said there were two open seats next to her. So in the intermission, we surreptitiously made our way up there, and were sitting down and then the lights went out, and Regina came on and just as she sat down to play Folding Chair, two guys came to take their seats. Lame. So we had to leave and go back to our actual seats, but I actually did get to see Regina's face for about 20 seconds which was good.
