I don't know how I feel about this upcoming Angles album. Julian said in interviews that he left the studio and was out of the room because he's very self-critical, so this album is really the creation of the other band members and he just sang the vocals on top later. It seems like a strange way of doing things, and maybe it's to make up for Julian having a solo album?

I wish Jules would ditch the sunglasses. I wanna see his dreamy brown eyes. I love the lyrics to "Under Cover of Darkness". His voice is so seductive.

quote:
Slip back out of whack at your best.

It's a nightmare

So I'm joining the army.

Know how folks back out, I still call

Will you wait for me now?

We got the right and if I have to use it

Got everything but you can just choose it

I won't just be a puppet on a string.

Don't go that way.

I'll wait for you.

And I'm tired of all your friends

They're listening at your door

But I won't, I better call you.

So long my friend and adversary

But I'll wait for you.

Get dressed jump out of bed and do it best.

Are you okay?

I've been all around this town

Everybody's singing the same song for ten years.

I'll wait for you.

Will you wait for me too?

And they sacrifice their lives

In their land of all closed eyes

I've been saying we're beaten down, I won't say it again

So long, my adversary and friend.

Don't go that way.

I'll wait for you.

I'm tired of all your friends

Knocking down your door

Get up in the morning, give it your all

So long, my friend and adversary.

I'll wait for you.

Thanks for the link to the "You're So Right" single - it only came out yesterday, March 1! This one sounded well-put-together.

The Strokes performing “Under Cover of Darkness” and “Life Is Simple in the Moonlight” on SNL (videos of both songs) with Miley Cyrus hosting

http://www.verbicidemagazine.c...oonlight-on-snl/1421

Miley needs to take off that Strokes t-shirt.

quick, before Youtube removes it. I'm pretty sure Julian dropped the f-bomb at 3:59 during "Under Cover of Darkness".

edit: promo for the show -

soo awkward.

I love how Julian spins around at 56:15 with no one to hug and then hugs Fab Moretti.

I was researching cover versions of "The Times They are a-Changing" (for school, believe it or not - I'm trying to pick a topic for my canned manuscript speech for a mandatory speech class) and I discovered a lovely Irish lass by the name of Lisa Hannigan. and holy wow. The song-writing in "Lille" is superb. Her cover of "Playground Love" is perfect. You know that feeling when your knees become weak and you experience a burst of emotion... it's like that. More of this neo-folk stuff, please. holy wowers. Kryshna be praised.
